COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Few times in the history of craft beer it has happened that a highly praised beer rises beyond mortal stardom into a higher godly league. Usually the recipe to make such heavenly drops is thick fudge-like body, pitch black color, amazingly overwhelming aromas of chocolate, coffee, dark fruits and muscovado sugar, obviously only made in limited amounts and most crucial of all – it must taste rare!

Fad: Smager sjældent. Ligner sjældent. I det hele taget bare sjælden. Kulsort olieret øl med et fint mørkebrunt skumhoved. Duften er tung maltet med lidt kaffe. Rigtig fin smag. Sjælden.

olio (10601) - Tampere, FINLAND - MAY 12, 2012
Draught @ Copenhagen Beer Celebration.

Pours pitch black color with small beige head. Aroma of caramel, dark roasted malts, mild syrup notes and some hints of coffee. Flavor of dark toasted malts, peat, liquorice, some salmiac and syrup. A bit too sticky sweet, otherwise nice.

Jesus vs. Serpent vertical

Aroma is rather light with some cocoa and vanilla. Flavour is somewhat roasted and acidic with some coffee. Slight alcohol in the finish. Too burned malt for me here and also the sour notes do disturb, Jesus lost the battle.

lusikka (7833) - Tampere, FINLAND - MAY 11, 2012
Draught @ Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2012.

Pours a black colour with a small beigeish head. Aroma of roasted malts,
wood, gooseberry bush and some dried fruits. Strong flavour of roasted malts, licorice, nuts, vanilla, syrup. Full bodied, oily mouthfeel and a long, roasty, burning alcohol finish. Alcohol comes through too much, but other than that a solid IS.

330ml bottle @ Viisi Penniä, Helsinki

Pours pitch black with no head to speak of. Massive aroma of molasses, roasted malts, vanilla, wood and hints of ripe fruits. Taste is quite complex with sweet roasty malts, vanilla, licorice, chocolate, coffee and syrup. Finish is strong and sticky with a lot of bitter, roasted and sweet chocolatey notes. Nice, quite massive and well balanced imperial stout. Slightly too sweet for my taste, but nevertheless a great beer.

Amazingly well-bodied, oily, slick. Deeply malty, slight bitterness towards the finish. Rivals BGBBW for best beer out of Denmark.
