Tap @Zakl?teRewiry @Hevelka. Pitch black with thick tan head. Beautifully dark. Roasted aromas mix with plums, coffee, chocolate, caramel, butterscotch. Oily and thick, very satisfying fullness. Sweet but not overwhelmingly, the alcohol is there and gives it a warming feeling. Overall a great beer. UPDATED: JUL 6, 2016 Big bottle at home. Pitch black, thick, beige creamy head. Big bodied milky chocolate and coffee, red vinous fruits, vanilla/oak, butterscotch, nuts, caramel, ripe apples, light bitterness in the finish, even a bit bourbon-y heath: complex! Lingering vinous, roasted malty finish. Low carbonation, soft mouthfeel.

Motor oil in a glass. Beautiful! Aroma is really nice with the dark roasted coffee, chocolate and a lot of sweet hints like caramel, butterscotch and ripe fruit. The taste is a bit too sweet, molasses, raisins and soy. Not well balanced. UPDATED: JUL 9, 2016 Pours like oil with a medium size frothy khaki head, and great lacing. Smell is of cocoa, malt, alcohol, chock, and black licorice. Batch 003. Pours dark as Satan’s heart. World class head volume, lacing and retention.
Quite outstanding rich nose of molasses, caramel, dark fruits (plum, raisin), light roast and even lighter char and chocolate.
Rich heavy full body that is very creamy and coats the tongue. World class carbonation / body balance that opens the complex flavors up. The middle is nicely effervescent and the finish hits just the right mark of prickliness.
The flavor profile is quite outstanding and more complex than the nose. Had the alcohol remained completely covered, it would be world class. Char and roast lead with tobacco and leather lurking underneath. These add notes of coffee as the middle approaches. The middle is a rich sweet explosion of caramel and molasses that is balanced by a moderate bitterness derived from both roast and herbal hops. As the bitterness ebbs, plum and raisin arrive over bakers chocolate. The finish begins as a slow fade of mostly caramel but here alcohol comes uncovered...both in flavor and astringency. This astringency leaves a bit of heat and implied dryness. The lingering finish is that of astringent alcohol and prune.

(Bottle) Pitch black colour with frothy, dark brown head. Malty, roasted nose with strong sweet espresso, dark chocolate, cocoa, soy sauce, liquorice, burnt sugar, a touch of tar and some pine needles. Malty, roasted taste with strong sweet black coffee, cacao, soy sauce, burnt sugar, sweet liquorice, a touch of tamarind and a solid piney, roasted bitterness in the finish. Full body, thick and oily mouthfeel. Fairly sweet. Massive and quite an impressive imperial stout. Not for the faint hearted, but very tasty. It pours dark brown with a tan head. The aroma had chocolate, toffee, smooth roast and some licorice. It has a thick rich body with some crispness with the big amount of micro carbonation. The taste has dry roasted malt, coffee, cocoa nibs, anise, fudge and some earthy/spicy hops. Very nice.
