COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Few times in the history of craft beer it has happened that a highly praised beer rises beyond mortal stardom into a higher godly league. Usually the recipe to make such heavenly drops is thick fudge-like body, pitch black color, amazingly overwhelming aromas of chocolate, coffee, dark fruits and muscovado sugar, obviously only made in limited amounts and most crucial of all – it must taste rare!

Can. Jet black, pours like motor oil, with brown, frothy and pretty stable head but rather poor lacing. Quite strong and solid roasted aromas with significant notes of dark chocolate, dried fruits and some tones of alcohol, good alcohol. Taste is... complex, with little bit ashy feeling, sweetness changing into light spicy alcohol flavors, finished with medium bitterness. Full body with slightly oily mouth feel, low carbonated, well balanced for the 12%. Very good!

DATE: June 12, 2017... OCCASION: The Cavs head back to Oracle for Game 5... can history repeat itself? Sounds like this calls for a powerful, rare beer... GLASSWARE: Duvel tulip... oozes from its can like crude, with a velvety viscosity that transforms into a three-fingered staunchly bread-like brown head--the sixteen ounce can delivers a sight to behold... first sniff is chocolate, dark and fruity, with an erupting sweetness that is malty but not candied... coffee and rum are hints that enter late but can be detected... quite a dessert, though this could probably star at many times of day... BIG, powerful as any Imperial I have had recently, with heat late and a lasting coating through the throat... wow, the aftertaste remains long after the first sip... chewy, memorably meaty... avoiding dumb religious puns, this experience is epic in its length, with hoppy presence in the teeth and the full-bodied, sipping it straw-like with the pleasure of a creamy bourbon... the flavor profile is sweet, sugary, with chocolate, coffee bean, and some light earthiness make for an experience that makes for one heavy evening of a boozy brew...

Lots of roasted marshmallows. Pretty sweet with a somewhat rounding bitterness, not enough though to balance out the sweetness. Beeing a bit too sweet it is still a nice imperial stout.
