Few times in the history of craft beer it has happened that a highly praised beer rises beyond mortal stardom into a higher godly league. Usually the recipe to make such heavenly drops is thick fudge-like body, pitch black color, amazingly overwhelming aromas of chocolate, coffee, dark fruits and muscovado sugar, obviously only made in limited amounts and most crucial of all – it must taste rare!

Served from a 12 oz bottle from Bottlecraft. The appearance is a oily ruby black with a perfect deep brown head. The nose oozes with hot gooey fudge chocolate browns with caramel, smoked sausauge, milk chocolate, and whoppers. The flavors enter with a lot of smoked meats but the sweet rich chocolate truffles with confection sugar and brown sugar sprinkled in there. Also some peanut butter hints. There is also some dark dried fruits and more smoked meat in the finish. The mouth is full bodied with a moderate creaminess. A long sticky finish. Great beer for sure!

Very nice stout! Sugar, licorice and coffee. Very well balanced. You can taste the alcohol but it is nicely complemented by all the other flavors. Well done!

Dunkler schokoladiger Antrunk. Geringe Herbe, holzige Noten, vollmundig. Leicht fruchtiger Mittelteil, spritzig, sehr süffig, milde Herbe, nett. Okay. 10/9/10/9/10/10

UPDATED: NOV 26, 2017 Sampled from 0.65 l bottle from 'Saveur Bière', cellared for about a year. Pitch black with a beige head. Sweetish-malty, moderately roasty aroma of dark chocolate, licorice, coffee and some vanilla. Rather sweet, malty, moderately roasty taste of dark chocolate, coffee, licorice, vanilla and traces of dark fruits, followed by a medium long, rather roasty-bitter finish and minimally boozy finish. Full body, creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very good!

Bottle at a Tasting. A black beer with a small tan head. Aroma of intense dark brown malt, liqourice, riped red fruits. Taste of dark mild roasted malt, liqourice, chocolate, red fruits, caramel, nice.

A 22 fl. oz. bomber with no clear bottled on or best before date. Poured into a snifter. It was a deep slick motor oil black with not much head despite an aggressive pour and some sparse spotty lacing. Aromas of roasty dark malts, molasses, chocolate, coffee, dark fruits and a hint of char. Tastes roasty, chocolate, molasses, caramel and coffee. On the back end, at times there is this light lingering smoked honey glazed bacon flavour. Interesting! Creamy, full bodied with low carbonation. Overall a nice sipper for a cool day.

16oz can. Pours black with a moderate dark tan head. Aroma is caramel, earth, booze, coffee, chocolate, and roast. Taste is caramel, coffee, roast, booze, bittersweet chocolate, light earth, and light licorice. Bitter and alcoholic finish - a little earthy, too. Full body. Soft carbonation. Sticky, thick, creamy mouthfeel. The finish is the only real weak point.

puren (1287) - Gdańsk, POLAND - NOV 20, 2017
bardzo ciemno brązowe, piana jest bardzo obfita, brązowa, szybko opada do trwałej warstwy, nie osiada na ściance;

sos sojowy, likier śliwkowy, wędzona śliwka, susz wigilijny;

ciało średnie, ciężkie i oleiste, średnio nasycone, mocno zaklejające, alkohol rozgrzewa delikatnie przełyk;

słodkie - rum, rodzynki, gorzka czekolada, karmel, wyraźna kakaowa goryczka; po kilku łykach czekolada zdecydowanie przewodzi;

smaczne piwo, bardzo smaczne; no, może troszkę za słodkie.
