On tap at Borefts. Well it lives up to the description, but it blends together surprisingly well. Pours deep black with a brown head. Aroma is of chocolate, coffee and the chili, doesn’t seem very balanced there. Flavour is much more favourable, milk chocolate and malt smoothly complimented by the chili. Nice surprise. On tap at 4th Borefts. Black with small, frothy to creamy, brown head. Intense dark malty aroma with lots of chocolate, vanilla, almond, marzipan, cherry liqueur. Taste is sweet dark malty, dark and milk chocolate, vanilla, cherry liqueur; little by little the chili comes up hot and peppery - not overpowering, in perfect accordance with the sweet parts. Sticky, oily palate. Wow! Liquid chocolate with chili. Abio (1868) - BERMUDA - SEP 30, 2012
Black with a to small but decent holding brown head. Some vegetables-like (the chili?), chocolate and vanilla. At he taste the chilis is not that present at first and the chocolate overwhelming. Not bad. At second taste the chili is there for sure, when slightly warmed also some peperkoek. Not bad at all. Travlr (26070) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - SEP 29, 2012
Draft at Borefts. Very dark maroon color, massive brown head. Aroma of intense vanilla. Taste is nicely balanced vanilla and chili on a background of smooth milk chocolate. Very nice. kermis (14553) - The Hague / Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - SEP 29, 2012
Draft at Borefts. Pours black with a thick beige head. Aroma has massive floral and perfume qualities along with dark chocolate and pepper. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. The chilli continues to build in the back of your throat with each sip, leading to a bigger and bigger chilli finish in a nice way. A nice oily mouthful, with a full body and soft carbonation. A standout beer!
