On tap at Borefts 2012, Bodegraven. Pours oily black with a light, brown foam head. Dark malt nose, light peat, burnt wood, something slightly vegetal (lettuce?). Hugely sweet flavor, lots of dark chocolate, sturdy roast, chili peppers. Full bodied with fine, chewy carbonation. Faint warmth in the finish, dark chocolate, some very hot chili spice - thought not too hot, it should be added. Lingering chocolate, oily sugars and heat. This beer has a very good level of hotness. It’s not overbearing like some spicy beers. Koelschtrinker (20591) - Köln (Cologne), GERMANY - DEC 16, 2012
Marzipan Geruch. Vanillenoten, Schokolade, Marzipan, dann scharf nach Chili. Vollmundig, nussig, scharf. Interessant aber zu übertrieben – überfordernd! 9/12/8/10//10

Black pour with a tan head. Very nice gingerbread aroma. Lots of chocolate and vanilla, roasted malt, a bit of chili pepper heat, and some cinnamon. The flavor is nicely spiced with gingerbread, cinnamon, nutmeg, and chili pepper flavors. Lots of roasted malt, chocolate, and a bit of coffee. Nice vanilla sweetness, too.
