When I copied the famous Even More Jesus, I had to ask myself as an artist, why am I doing this? I didnt honestly know. It was just an instinct about beer as pure form in a sense this stout is like a metaphor for freedom - the sum of all the beauty that surrounds me and my perfect contemporary existence.

Great bottled stout rolling in at 12%, what can you say. Heavy, deep. Not a lot of taste of course, but getting through a bottle of this on a night can last you the whole night. Very decent out of bottle stout. Great job for what it is. I like a bit more of different tastes like oaks, chocolates etc in my stouts. It was just okay on the palate etc. Highly recommend if you can get it a little cheaper. Hardly anyone has figured out how to sell a stout correctly vs a tap, so dont feel bad. Got a tad old through a four pack, which I didnt finish. Appreciated that ABV for relaxation and party.

(Backlog 22-01-2016)

Medium/heavy aroma of malts, caramel, dark fruit, berries, chocolate, mocha, roasted malts and coffee.

Opaque black beer with a slight beige head.

Starts heavy sweet with malts, caramel, dark fruit, berries, chocolate and mocha; ends slightly bitter and dry with roasted malts and coffee.

This beer is intense, complex and balanced. Great amount of roasted malts for how very sweet this beer is. Even some dark fruit and berries at the start. Perfect appearance and a great palate as well.

Pours dark brown with minimal beige head. Aroma is date, caramel, toast, nuts, blueberry, some flower, some earth, liquorice. Medium sweet, strong bitter, medium sour. Oily texture, medium body, soft carbonation, somewhat astringent, alcoholic finish. Not quite there.

Bottle. Boozy and lightly oily texture. Good body, yet still digestible. I really enjoyed this one, an imperial stout that doesnt over do the roast, and despite the high alcohol is easy to sip. Hop wins over malt here, but remains within balance.

12-ounce bottle pours pitch black with thick dark-tan creamy head. Aroma is hard to pin down, but detect: raisins, carmelized brown sugar, cocoa. Flavor is an immediate "wow" with so much going on; I pick up on the following: ashes (but in a good way), prunes, figs, dates, molasses, espresso, bakers chocolate. Mouthfeel: rich, silky with a smooth alcohol warmingness from the 12 percent ABV. Its an imperial stout on the hoppy side, which I like. Theres a lingering prickliness on the tongue from the bitterness.

September 22, 2015 - at Craft (Clapham) - 330ml bottle. With lagerloather and JerCraigs. Opaque black with a light brown lasting creamy/frothy head (4+). Aroma of alcohol, mint, plenty of coffee, some dark chocolate, hint of tart fruit - rich and complex (8+). Classic ever so slightly sweet imperial stout taste - treacle, deep rich roast, a bit boozy and tart. Slick, mildly carbonated, long dry, bitter/malty almost burnt and slightly sour (in a good way) finish. Lovely.

12 oz bottle. Pours a very dark brown with moderate head. Aromas of black coffee, roasted malts and a little pine. Flavors of black licorice, acidic black coffee, soy sauce/umami, and heavily roasted malts. Acidic roasty finish.

12 fl oz. from local Alko, Viikki. This skilfully made brew reminds me of saying: The few who do are the envy of the many who watch. - Jim Rohn. Brilliantly made stout.
