COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Roman Empire had a certain “je ne sais quoi” festive food culture, extravagant architecture and spectacular live entertainment. Some might argue the Emperors were brutal, mad and hungry for power, and the people vain when taking baths and working out all day. Listen – that’s still all part of the secret Imperial ingredient – keep it cool, clean, confident, arrogant and flamboyant. Forza Imperiale.

From the tap at FOB, in Rimini, Italy. Pours pitch black, with limited brownish foam. Aroma is rich and complex, with toffee, caramel, coffee, a little roasty, butterscotch. Body is dense and sticky. Taste is intense, with some sweetness and some bitterness, nicely balanced. Finish is long and sweet, with some additional butterscotch feeling, I would say.

Decent imperial stout. Aroma was good. Vanilla, dough and notes of chocolate and sugar. Pour was a nice deep dark brown/near black with a thin tan film for a head. Taste was too sweet for me. Actually did taste like a chocolate covered piece of biscotti with vanilla and powdered sugar sprinkled on top. Not a bad beer, but the sweetness was way too much. Mild carbonation

(Evil Twin Imperial Biscotti Break) Bottle 650ml at home, served into a snifter, ABV 11.5% Pitch black coloured body, thick when poured, with a tall and thick dark brown head on top, pretty good retention. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, light mocha, plums as it gets warmer. Taste has roasted malts, lots of milky chocolate, bitter chocolate follows, mocha, oats, light liquorice, molasses, well hidden alcohol, again some plums and dark fruits as it warms up. Thick body, soft carbonation and smooth textured. Great.

Black beer, weak head. Smell is christmas spices; nutmeg, clove. Also biscuits, raisins, sherry, chocolate and coffee. It’s like a typical christmas pudding. Taste is amazing. Chocolate, milk, biscuits, raisins, subtle bitterness, full and heavy, wow. Again the christmas spices, a masterpiece.

Chocolate and coffee. This is so intense, so balanced with the sweetness that is very present, but not too sweet. Not hoppy at all. If you compare with old rasputin or Speedway stout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

2 and ½ finger mocha coloured head. Pitch black beer. Beautiful. Aroma is toffee, chocolate, sweet biscuits, vanilla, hint of blueberries and coffee with a slightly sour vinous tone. A warming alcohol punch comes through the aroma and tickles the nose at the end. The blueberry hint reminds me alot of "Lizard of Koz" by Founders. Taste is so broad, so many taste notes to be found. Follows the aroma pretty well, adds a nice taste of orange chocolate and brown sugar. Citrusy hoppy note at the very back. It finishes with an pretty heavy alcoholic warmth as it goes down the throat, Oily but a bit thin and ever so slightly watery but the taste pretty much makes up for it. Still, one point down for the palate section. Overall, a great, complex stout that you can take small sips of off for probably 2 hours. Maybe a tad too sweet but still great.

UPDATED: FEB 14, 2017 Can from Bubbles in NKC. Pours a deep dark brown with a one finger khaki head. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, and a hint of chocolate. Taste is highlighted with coffee notes up front and through the mid-palate, followed by a slight chocolate and amaretto notes on the backside. Mouthfeel is a little light for this big of a beer...would have been better with a little more body. Carbonation was high. Overall a decent coffee stout, but there are other ones I prefer. Don’t think I will bother with this one again.

Lovely aromas of coffee and sweetness. Exquisite flavor of coffee, chocolate, vanilla and sweetness. Heavy bitterness that fills the mouth forever. Enjoyable beer. Lasts a long time in the evening. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.
