COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Roman Empire had a certain “je ne sais quoi” festive food culture, extravagant architecture and spectacular live entertainment. Some might argue the Emperors were brutal, mad and hungry for power, and the people vain when taking baths and working out all day. Listen – that’s still all part of the secret Imperial ingredient – keep it cool, clean, confident, arrogant and flamboyant. Forza Imperiale.

Aroma - caramelized sugar, licorice, raisins, prune, cherry, alcohol, spice, and chocolate. Appearance - the body is black, and the head is a sandy brown and about 1 1/4" and slowly fades. Alcohol cloying Taste - rich full malt, sweet with chocolate, almond, brown sugar, caramelized sugar, raisins, and slight prune and spices. There is a little anisette and bold alcohol. Palate - full body, slick feel a little thin, average carbonation, rich and sugary with astringent alcohol. Tap at Hop Cats Detroit. Nice head slow exit, little swirl- back again. Wow taste like a slice of carmelized raisin, nutty, spicy, did I mention reduced brown sugar? Southern pie, with a touch of fiestieness. Nice.

Bottle 75cl, a dark beer with medium brown head. Nose is sweet like with roasted caramel and coffee. Aroma is intense on chocolate, caramel, biscuit, smooth body, lot of licorice and vanilla notes, van houten type of chocolate, creamy, exceptional brew. Long roasted aftertaste, bit of soy sauce.

473ml can @ home. Pours opaque black with a moderate brown head. Nose is roasted malts and some coffee. Flavour is quite rich, there is an overall bitterness, but there’s much more dancing around that keeping the sweetness in check. Almonds, some vanilla, dark chocolate, espresso. A tasty treat that I could back for more. Full-bodied and a thick mouthfeel.

From a can into a pint glass. Very thick, dark brown, nice tan head. Nose is all chocolate and vanilla, some coffee, really nice. Thick full body, low carbonation. Not too sweet, nice chocolate bitterness to level off the sugar. Great beer.

On tap at Omnipollos Hatt. Black with a small tan head. On the sweet side with chocolate, licorice, some dark fruit, hints of vanilla and roasted malt. The body was full and the finish with warming alcohol.

Bottle to pint glass Ugh...I got gas and I was hungry. There happened to be a 7-11 attached. Well, I broke down and grabbed a bucket of chicken. Disgusting! So when I got home, I really needed to cleanse my palate. Thank you Evil Twin...I know this will be good. Consummation: Mocha, biscuit, vanilla, some booziness, and bitterness. Adjunct: Aroma is spiced rum, chocolate, and biscuit; black with a small, light brown, creamy head, but no lacing; thick, oily, and creamy
