Bomber->snifter. Black with decent tan head. A: loads of coffee and chocolate. T: even more dark chocolate, and coffee. Smooth, not too sweet. Lingering bittersweet aftertaste. Very good. TXBadger (2811) - Dallas, Texas, USA - JUN 11, 2014
Pours a very dark black like oil consistency, with minimal tan head. Cocoa, biscuit, roasted malt, and even a little vanilla on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with a nice roasty note. Very good. mikeq215 (69) - Wayne, New Jersey, USA - JUN 6, 2014
Bottle. Pours black with a big tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee. Taste is chocolate, sugar, espresso. Full body, creamy. Very nice dessert beer. ramboraffe (2257) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - JUN 6, 2014
On tap at alehouse. Black with tanned head. Smell is bitter chocolate and coffee and malt. Taste is heavy roasted malt body with finishing strong coffee bitterness. Dry with low carbonation. oliodnb (664) - ITALY - JUN 6, 2014
Pours pitch black with a thick, foamy brown head. Smells of ripe dark fruits, light roasted malts, burnt sugar, some coffee. Very good rich taste of roasted malts, lots of coffee and chocolate, ripe fruits again. Full bodied, thick creamy mouthfeel. Some milky sweetness well balanced by the final bitterness. Finishes with a strong coffee aftertaste. Excellent.

Pitch black beer, creamy beige to brown head, bit stable, non adhesive. Aroma: lots of chocolate upon opening the bottle, not really that much in the glass. Then mocha, lots of coffee, charcoal, caramel, bit sweet, vanilla, sugary, on warming up the chocolate is coming back. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: sweet start, then very bitter coffee, some caramel, vanilla, sugary, milk chocolate, little hoppy. Aftertaste: bitter chocolate, mocha, coffee, cocoa powder, bit of vanilla, caramel, slightly hoppy, bit fruity, red berries, alcohol, bitter dry hoppy ending.
Aroma is chocolate, mocha, coffee, and sweet pastry. Taste is a deep malt profile with flavors similar to the aromas. The sweet chocolate character is dominant here. Not much hop character observed. Body is jet black with a brown bubbly head that retains fairly. Homer321 (5248) - Melboring, Florida, USA - MAY 27, 2014
Draft. Strong nose of sugar and biscuit and toast. Pour is pitch black and minimal light brown head. Taste is very much like a sugary doughnut. With some light toast. Slightly sweet. Lots of boost through the finish. Pretty jive. Sticky on the lips. HonusWagner (2248) - Florida, USA - MAY 27, 2014
It’s a high ABV coffee stout/porter that is well made, which gives you a general idea of what it tastes like. Kind has a cafe mocha quality, not too sweet though, a bit of a spicy coffee note. Not as luscious as my absolute favorites in the style but pretty damn good. superspak (6204) - Waterford, Michigan, USA - MAY 26, 2014
22 ounce bottle into snifter, best before 2015. Pours dense pitch black color with a 2 finger dense dark brown head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of huge dark chocolate, cocoa, fudge, espresso beans, roasted malt, dark bread, caramel, vanilla, light nuttiness, and roasted earthiness. Fantastic aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roasted malt, coffee, and vanilla notes; with great strength. Taste of big dark chocolate, cocoa, espresso beans, roasted malt, fudge, toast, dark bread, caramel, vanilla, light nuttiness, and roasted earthiness. Fair amount of roast/coffee bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, espresso, roast, fudge, toast, dark bread, caramel, vanilla, light nuttiness, and roasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity and balance of dark/roasted malt, coffee, and vanilla flavors; with a great roasted bitterness/sweetness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-medium carbonation and full bodied; with a very creamy, smooth, moderately slick, and lightly chalky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is an outstanding imperial coffee stout. All around awesome complexity and balance of dark/roasted malt, coffee, and vanilla flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the ABV. A highly enjoyable offering.
