COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Roman Empire had a certain je ne sais quoi festive food culture, extravagant architecture and spectacular live entertainment. Some might argue the Emperors were brutal, mad and hungry for power, and the people vain when taking baths and working out all day. Listen thats still all part of the secret Imperial ingredient keep it cool, clean, confident, arrogant and flamboyant. Forza Imperiale.

Appearance: Poured with not head to speak of. Head could be forced by a vigorous swirl of the glass. This is pitch black and as I poured it the guys in the room all said "wow" because of the viscosity and the complete blackness. Smell: Coffee and a dark chocolate with molasses. There is some toasted notes also. There is a bitter coffee ground smell, too. Taste: This is like drinking a chocolate brownie! Coffee and sweet molasses show up and something that makes my pucker. Mouthfeel: This is one chewy beer. I feel like I need to chew instead of just swallow when I drink this one. It coates every corner of my mouth with thickness that lingers between sips. No carbonation on this at all. Overall: This is definitaly a beer that must be shared IMO because of how big it is. Although I did enjoy this it is one that is very bold and a HUGE beer.

(650ml bottle from boxbeers.dk, Westbrook-brewed version) Pours pitch back with a very small dark tan head and ? lace. Sweet desserty nose of dark chocolate, sweet dark malts, molasses, fresh brewed black coffee, moderate, somewhat dusty roast, almond butter, amaretto, raisins, rather liqueur-like overall. Flavour is quite sweet initially but not completely cloying, notes of amaretto, crushed almonds, chocolate and coffee liqueur, a little dried dark fruit. From the middle on, it becomes a chunk drier and more roasty, with black coffee, light coffee bean, roasted but not totally burnt grain, semisweet chocolate, slightly nutty. Finish is dry and bitter, fairly roasty, with slight alcohol heat. Medium bodied, not too syrupy for style, with soft carbonation. Surprisingly easy to drink for a dessert stout, probably due to the reasonably bitter nature of both almonds and coffee. Very nice stuff.

Kran w pubie BrewDog Warszawa
AROMAT: Bardzo intensywny. Piękne nuty rasowego Imperialnego Stoutu: gorzka czekolada, kawa. Z tylu (szczeglnie po ogrzaniu) wyraźne nuty alko.
WYGLĄD: Barwa czarna, nieprzejrzyste. Piana drobna, niska, pięknie zdobi szkło.
SMAK: Potężną słodowość (czekoladowo-kawowa). Posmak wytrawny, kawowy.
