Nice brownish black pour. Aromas of chocolate/coffee/tobacco. Didn’t seem 11.5 ABV, alcohol is well masked. Big flavor on this beer.

Draft into a tulip. Deep opaque, black brown. Strong aroma of molasses and espresso beans. Quite bitter, some sweetness. Hints of some spice. Quite upfront alcohol. Quite heavy, very oily mouthfeel. Lots of acidity. Very good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours black with a thin beige head. Good lacing. Aromas of dark chocolate, dark fruit, and coffee. Flavors are coffee, dark fruit, vinous tones, black chocolate. molasses and bready notes. Slightly syrupy mouthfeel that coats the tongue. Boozy. Very malty. Nice.

Thy body is black as a starless night, thy head may be lil’ but... oh, whatever... the small brown head sticks around for some time before it ends up as a partially covering film. Inviting and strong aroma of chocolate, dark caramel and other dark roasted malty notes. In the back I get sweet dark dried fruits, leather and liquorice, and some faint vinous hints of alcohol. Delicious and intense flavour of dark chocolate, bitter chocolate, chocolate sauce, roasted malt and dark dried fruits. Some well integrated notes of cognac-like alcohol dwell in the background, along with vanilla and traces of black currants. The taste is moderate sweet, with a fairly heavy bitter, everlasting finish. Full body, oily to creamy texture, soft carbonation. A marvellous brew!

Alles drin für ein Imperial Porter. Tiefschwarz in der Farbe, keine Blume (in Wroclaw vom Fass getrunken), voller Körper mit Backpflaume und Rosinen....

Pours black with a tan head. Coffee, dark chocolate, roasted malt, alcohol, caramel and vanilla aroma. Dark chocolate, coffee, vanilla, plum, roasted malt, caramel, toast and slight alcohol flavors. Full body and moderate carbonation and a chocolate, coffee and roasted malt finish with a hint of alcohol.

metalspice (933) - Jevnaker, NORWAY - MAR 26, 2016

(Draught at Beer Temple, Amsterdam, 21 Feb 2016) Black colour with brief, foamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with strong sweet coffee, liquorice and caramel. Malty, roasted taste with notes of liquorice, strong black coffee, cacao, molasses, raisins, dark fruit and a generous roasty bitterness in the finish. Full body, thick and fairly oily mouthfeel. A certain sweetness. Solid and well made imperial porter in excellent balance for its strength. Lovely stuff!
