Shall one compare thee to a fair beer, Not even this perfect porter before thou will do thee justice. Thou art more complex, brave and cunning. Thou have changed more than a brew will ever. Thou may be lil’, but thy mind is greater than words can speak and beer will ever taste.

(330ml bottle @ VilleValla Pub, Linköping, Feb 5 2016) Pours inky black with a small tan head and no lace. Aroma is fairly sweet with molasses, burnt sugar, stewed dark fruits, light anise, a bit of chocolate sauce, some ash and tar for slight balance. Flavour is quite sweet, again riding a core of molasses and burnt sugar with chocolate, dark fruit, a bit of vanilla in there too, slight licorice. Towards the finish there is a bit of bitter cacao, burnt malt and ash but really low on roast overall. A bit of bitterness builds when warm, supported by alcohol heat. Medium full body, low carb, oily and smooth. Nice and rich, a bit sweet for me and not extremely complex, but a big dark sipping beer with low roast that seems to hit the notion of imperial porter on the head.

Crazy aroma, leather, wood, booze, dark fruit, raisins, sweet burnt caramel, its all over the place. Black body with a thin tan ring for a head. Flavor is just like the aroma different flavors constantly flowing about with a burnt, yet kinda mellow finish. Definitely unique and good.

Jet black beer with tanned head on it, altough head dont stay too long and have no lacing on the glass. Aroma; very powerfull sweet, dark aroma, with chocolate, cocoa, licorie. Taste: high sweetness with caramel and chocolate flavours, than hint of sour with dark fruit notes, and than light bitter that slowly builds up with some alcohol in it. Palate: full body, pretty thick, with warming up alcohol, kinda spicy in bitter after warming up. Overall: good, sweet beer, pretty powerfull with it flavours, altough not that complex, definitly would get even better with age. I would love to try this barrel aged in bourbon barrels

Je ne sais pas trop à quel moment, l’imperial porter bascule vers la stout ? En tout cas, on y est presque ici, à ce point là. Bien réalisé ici mais avec un style plus piquant et acide que ce vers quoi mon goût me porte habituellement !

Type: 12-oz. bottle Glass: Karl Strauss 26th anniversary tulip glass From: Bine & Vine Bottle Shop in Normal Heights (San Diego), Calif. Price: $4.49 Purchased: Jan. 13, 2016 Consumed: Jan. 16, 2016 Misc.: N/A I’ve never had an Evil Twin Brewing beer. They always seem to be a bit pricy for what I’m looking for. However, I got $50 for my birthday and decided to give it a whirl. Picked Lil’ B over Christmas Eve at a New York Hotel Room and Soft DK. Here’s to making the right choice. Poured a black color with two fingers of dark tan, frothy head, which settled nicely on the top. Good amount of uneven, wet, foamy lacing on the sides of the glass. Very good retention. (Sight - 4.25) Smelled some weird flavors off the get go, getting dark fruits - red apple, plum and purple grape - butterscotch, caramel, toffee, figs, dates, brown sugar and boozy molasses. Something a tad off. (Smell - 3.50) Tasted better than the nose. Got smooth butterscotch, sugary caramel and toffee, maple syrup, brown sugar, licorice, molasses, leathery notes and dark red apple. So smooth. (Taste - 3.75) Full body. Sticky texture. Average carbonation. Long, warming finish. (Feel - 4.75) Overall I was disappointed in this one, although it did grow on me as it went down. I wonder how this would do with age. (Overall - 3.75) 3.82 86 B+

Thick black pour with a thin tan head. Lovely slick oily mouthfeel, with big treacle, brown sugar, burnt flavours. Hint of liquorice and stewed fruits. This is just what I like in a beer, really good.

This beer has a silky black pour with a thin brown head. The aroma is of molasses, pretty spot on. Brown sugar. The flavor is potent. Lots of alcohol, initial burn. The body is sweet, some caramel, brown sugar, molasses. It has that molasses strong flavor. Interesting. Good.
