Shall one compare thee to a fair beer, Not even this perfect porter before thou will do thee justice. Thou art more complex, brave and cunning. Thou have changed more than a brew will ever. Thou may be lil’, but thy mind is greater than words can speak and beer will ever taste.

m.mahu (200) - Iasi, ROMANIA - FEB 10, 2017
Bottle at home. Pours pitch black with no head whatsoever. Smells like liquorice, fruits, cognac. Tastes follows with more dark fruits, liquorice, cognac barrel, roasted malts, faint black coffee, a bit of ash. The alcohol is present, although not bothersome. There is sweetness to it and bitterness, but both very low. There is almost no carbonation. I love it.

Turboninja (945) - Tampere, FINLAND - FEB 3, 2017
[email protected], from Alko web store. Medium, quite fresh and sweet aroma with dark fruits and some bourbon. Pitch black color with no head. Strong, balanced taste with sweet and slightly sour, dry nuances of dark fruits like plum. Bourbon, licorice and some sweetish, roasted malts and vanilla. Wide taste spectrum and long aftertaste with slightly roasted malts and licorice. Medium/strong body with medium carbonation. Overall, considering imperial porter, this quite nails it: almost like imperial stout but with slight bitter, more edge feeling. Alcohol comes trough a bit too much.

YantarCoast (1625) - Moscow, RUSSIA - JAN 18, 2017
355ml bottle dated 14 September 2015, bought at Bliznetsy in Moscow. Pours pitch black with a small dark brown head. Aroma is cognac, dark sweet cherries, and roastiness. Taste is very liqueurish, like cognac, espresso and brown sugar. A very intense and complex beer, for sure.

Aroma:
Medium/heavy aroma of malts, caramel, dark fruit, chocolate, mocha and roasted malts.

Appearance:
Opaque black beer with a medium dark brown head.

Taste/Palate:
Starts medium/heavy sweet with malts, caramel, dark fruit, chocolate and mocha; ends slightly bitter and dry with roasted malts.

Overall:
This beer is intense, complex and balanced. Great roasted beer with some sort of brown sugar added to make it a Porter. Amazing appearance and flavour, together with a great aroma and palate. Has no really bad aspects.

minihame2 (790) - Oulu, FINLAND - JAN 13, 2017
Pours thick and black with a nice, creamy, dark tan head. Aroma is malty, some roastedness, raisins, a bit of coffee. Taste is slightly sweet in the beginning, more of bitterness towards end with roasted malts and coffee. Oily mouthfeel with above medium carbonation. It’s really good, thank you based god.

mjs (7778) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JAN 13, 2017
(Bottle, 0.355 l - batch #013, from Alko Arkadia, 20170113) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had burnt malts, dark chocolate, cocoa and sweetness. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, coffee, dark chocolate, ash, sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste had burnt malts, chocolate and bitterness. A well done burnt brew that hid its high ABV and wasn’t too sweet.

Poured into a snifter, this had a black color with a thin finger’s worth of white to off white foamy head that quickly dies off. Moderate stringy lace. The aroma takes on a nice balance between the roast, the sweet and the bitter. Coffee beans, chocolate malts and some marshmallow riding in nicely. The flavor leans towards the roast first while bringing the sweetness in for a great balance. Sly roasty to bitter to semi-sweet aftertaste running into the finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionable to sipping quality about it. Mild carbonation. Some light slickness. Overall, damn nice beer for a cold Winter’s night. Definitely would have again.
