A deep dark imperial stout with a thin brown head. In aroma, sweet fruity chocolate malt with loads of dark fruits, plums, vanilla, alcohol warmth, pleasant. In mouth, sweet fruity caramel chocolate malt with light vanilla, light buttery notes, alcohol warmth, pleasant but a bit cloying. Bottle at Pushkinwows New squirter inauguration.

22 ounce bottle, Batch #003 08:45 stamped on the bottle. Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch tan head. Head retention is good, and theres a small amount of lacing. The brew smells like bittersweet and milk chocolate, roasted malt, dark bread, dark fruit, and some toffee. Taste is similar to the aroma, but theres also some licorice, molasses and ashy flavors noticeable too. Its a more bitter/roasty imperial stout than it is a sweet one. Mouthfeel/body is full, its creamy and coating with a moderate amount of carbonation. Its a little boozy, but not as much as I expected it to be. Overall I think its a good imperial stout. Definitely recommended if you havent had this before! $6.99 a bomber.

Bomber shared by Jan, cheers! One of the many high ABV stouts by Evil Twin, made at the famed Brooklyn Brewery in New York. Very thick, regular, deep ochre-ish beige head, creamy and stable, over a jet black beer with a very thin, hazy mahogany edge. Aroma of bitter chocolate, a lot of real iron, coffee grounds, raw spinach, leather, raw steak, dried figs, burnt toast, roasted walnuts, beef stock cubes, black peppercorns, hard butterscotch candy, toffee, blood. Dryish onset, some vague raisin sweetishness, perhaps a suggestion of dates even, but very subdued and surrounded by sourish dried berry and strong beef stock-like umami flavors. Soft carbonation, smooth and oily mouthfeel as it ought to be, with a metallic aspect (the very clear iron from the nose) recurring alongside a deeply nutty, toasted maltiness, more bitter than sweet and turning into light coffee roastedness and unsugared black chocolate aspects in the finish. Peppery hops and warming, rum-like alcohol are added in the finish, penetrating this mouth-filling black malt bitterness. Perfectly fine and tasty impy, the weird iron can-like presence in the nose was unexpected but did not really put me off; based on the name, though, I have to admit that I was more expecting a sweet, creamy dessert stout, popularized by Omnipollo among others. This, however, is a very typical American style imperial stout in all respects, classic, big, very flavorful and in spite of its volume and stature, perhaps even a bit less extreme than usual for Evil Twin.

Tried at the Cotteridge tasting 2017. This one looked better than it tasted. Aroma burnt sugar and liquorice. Sweet taste, rough and alcohol body. Not sure really
