Pours black with a thick tan head. Aroma is of roasted malts with chocolate and vanilla. Flavor is manly booze with a slight sweetness but the boozyness covers any real chocolate taste. Over all ok, I have one cellared so Ill see what I get in a year or two.

glennmastrange (2779) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - MAR 20, 2017
UPDATED: MAR 21, 2017 Tap. Moderate toasted and dark bread for the malt, light spruce for the hops, light dough for the yeast, with toffee, vanilla and dark rum. Head is small, frothy turning wispy, light brown, with fair lacing and good legs, and is mostly diminishing. Color is very dark brown. Flavor starts moderately sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes lightly acidic and moderately bittersweet. Palate is medium to full, creamy to syrupy, with a soft to lively carbonation and a moderately alcoholic finish. Nice Imperial Stout, maybe not as fudgy as I wanted it to be, but its placed somewhere between a easy drinketr and a sipper.

Pitch black with brown head. Roasty malt aroma, chocolate. Full bodied with strong alcohol feeling, strong roastiness, dark chocolate, soft mouthfeel, and some coffee in the end.
Yes, a very good beer, and worth the 8 US$, less impressive than other Evil Twins, though, not vibrant.

650ml bottle @ the office. Pours a thick oily black with a small brown head. Nose is roasted with sweet and dark malty notes. Flavour is smooth for the abv, however carries a roasted bitterness that masks any sweetness. Mouthfeel is rather thick, almost oily but without the texture. Considering the price on this, really good!

650ml bottle from Elizabeth Station (thx, Brian!) at Brians office. Pours a very dark brown with a brown head. Aroma and taste are roasted malt, sweet, some fruitiness. Sweet and bitter aftertaste. Good stuff.

Pours like engine oil with a "stand up spoon" dense caramel head. Aromas of Christmas cake, brandy and cinnamon hint of what's to come. Oily creamy mouth feel and dates/Christmas pudding abound with cinnamon, hints of licorice and dark chocolate. Outrageous alcohol prevents it from being sickly sweet and provide a toe curling warmth to the minutes long finish that throws in vanilla, nutmeg, a dash of malt and a light head! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle served in a glass, this ale was a dark brown (almost black) in the glass and gave a half to one finger light brown cover of bubbles, it left nice spots and fingers of lacing on the glass, the nose had aromas of roasted malt, chocolate, faint vanilla, very faint coffee, some intense roasted malt, and a bit of burnt malt, some hints of dark chocolate that were hardly noticeable, brown sugar and hints of molasses, the flavors were roasted malt, coffee, chocolate and a little dark cocoa (similar to bakers chocolate), some earth notes, brown sugar and a touch of molasses, the finish had a alcohol bite and some roasted malt bitterness that lingered on the tongue, the alcohol dried out the tongue a bit, this drink had a medium to full mouth feel that felt a little watery, it had average carbonation, it was a little creamy and alcoholic, alcohol was easily noticed on the nose and flavor, the alcohol lingered on the mouth and dried out the tongue, a less than basic impy with alcohol notes and without any standout qualities, disappointing.

Pours with a good amount of thick brownish foam. Color is pitch black. Looks very appealing. Aroma has some rubber, gunpowder, playdough, leather, seafood, iron and resin. A fairly atypical aroma, but interesting. Palate is a bit too oily and the carbonation is surprisingly weak. Taste has cough drops, dried plum, maple syrup, strongish burnt taste and some aniseed. A fairly stylish taste, but slightly too alcoholic and gasoline-like to my taste. Its an interesting and strong beer and certainly a quality stout.

Bottle. Pours black with a thick tan head. Aroma of chocolate malt, sweet roasted malt, vanilla, booze. Flavor of sweet roasted malt, chocolate, hot alcohol, licorice, dark fruits. A heavy impy, strong alcohol presence. Not too fudgy unfortunately. 7/4/6/4/14 (3.5/5)
