500mL bottle, pours a deep dark brown with an amber tinge and a medium beige head. Aroma is fairly sugary, with dark fruits, brown sugar and Belgium yeast. Flavour is very similar, with brown sugar, some dark fruits and Belgium yeast all equally characterizing the taste. Despite the name of the beer, the sugary qualities are not cloying, nor out of whack. Finishes on dark fruit and sugary brown sugar notes. Medium complexity with lots of depth. Very enjoyable. stobbe74 (3789) - DENMARK - AUG 28, 2012
Pours a clear and dark brown beer with a white head. The aroma is malt, dried fruit, sweetness, licorice, yeast and alcohol. The flavor follows the nose. The palaye is sweetness with alcoholwarmth. Overall a good beer. MadIndian (2743) - Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 20, 2012
Another stellar beer from this place. I loved the blend of candy sugar, bread, caramel and spice.
This one really sat well with me. I love Belgian Strongs. iowaherkeye (2703) - Ocean Beach, San Diego, California, USA - JUL 9, 2012
500mL bottle, no date for $12.99 at Olive Tree Market in OB. Clear dark reddish brown with a small beige head, fading to a ring rather quickly. Belgian yeast and ripe dark fruit (figs mainly) and molasses brown sugar notes up front in the nose--pretty malty and sweet. Light toasty malts are also present. The flavor adds some decaying leaves, and with it, a very slight tinge of something tangy. Still, quite sweet. The alcohol, though not all that strong, does help drying the beer out a bit, as well as some light roast char that doesn’t become apparent until the semi-dry finish. Bitterness peaked at a 2-3. Low carbonation with a big full body. This wasn’t too bad, but for the price, it sure was. I’d give it a 3 if the price factored in my rating, but this time, it won’t. luttonm (6169) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JUL 8, 2012
Bottle at SIBF. Red cola brown, minor head. Sweet brown sugar and rum. Heary aged feel, cola, tobacco, sugar cane. Aged dark rum. Bit off on feel. good, tart finish.

Bottle at SIBF. Pours a cola brown. Rum and raw sugar on the nose. Boozy sweet flavor, with some wood, a good amount of rum, and dark fruit. It has a bit of a harsh palate, though -- somewhat tinny. This was a bit of a disappointment. after4ever (8025) - Mukilteo, Washington, USA - JUL 5, 2012
500. Pours a fairly clear dark brown with a loose light tan head that doesn’t stick around. Big molasses and brown sugar nose. Creamy medium body with soft carb. Molasses and brown sugar mid palate. Not too much else happening, but tasty nevertheless--balanced, and not cloying. Good beer. jimhilt (2609) - Bow, New Hampshire, USA - JUN 27, 2012
Pours a two finger khaki head that vanishes leaving no lace. Very dark brown color, yeast left in bottle. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied. Brown sugar nose and flavor is molasses and brown sugar but not cloying. Higher ABV is hidden. Expensive at $9.99 for a 500ml bottle from Beverage Warehouse Winooski, VT. sfhodense (4789) - Odense NØ, DENMARK - JUN 26, 2012
