COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
English: This is a true story about a dedicated belgian brother who spent all his hard earned money on a all inclusive Barbados vacation to pursue a life long dream – brew an old fashion dark Belgian infused with local muscovado sugar aka Barbados sugar – luckily the outcome is a first class candy coated, full-bodied and escapist beer – the best he ever made. Halleluja.

Small amber-brownish head, relatively stable, fed by finely, well-carbonated slightly hazy brownish red beer. Perfumed nose with almonds, marzipan, rosewater and dark brown sugar. Sweet, but less than suggested by nose and label; woody touches, and again almonds. Brown (candi or other) sugar. Bit rum-like flavours, but without the alcoholcomponent. Mineral water quality, relatively light body ~ to the ABV, well-attenuated & well carbonated. Not too sweet, thankfully. But not much else - the carbonation seems to bear most of the balance.

29/11/2011 1Pt. 0.9Fl. Oz. bottle @ Klaas’ place - BBE: 2015 (2011-684) Thanks to Klaas for sharing the bottle!

Clear purple brown beer, small light beige head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: rhum infused bbq bananas (or: sweet banana, candi sugar, brown rhum, burnt caramel). MF: ok carbon, medium body. TAste: sweet sugary start, malts, ripe fruits, banana & prunes, caramel, bit cloying, rhum raisins. Aftertaste: mocha, brown sugar, rotten fruits, over ripe banana, bit of coffee, somewhat alcoholic in the back of the throat.

Tap at Churchkey. Pours a hazy strawberry to jewel ruby with no head formation. Small ring of beige bubbles. Nose is pool cleaner. Small red twizzlers and starchy red candies. Volatile notes thankfully subside for sweet dark cherries and dark fruits: fruit cake, dates. Taste is nicely sweet. Sort of like Gouden Carolus Christmas with Belgian dark fruits, red licorice, mild spices and noticeable sweet rum booziness. Not bad. Reminds me a lot of Belgian Easter and Christmas beers. Gouden Carolus attenuation level. Not as sweet as I was told to expect. Nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Ölbutikken. Dark brown with a medium head. This reminded quite a lot of a Brown Ale. Malt, sweet and with some roasted notes. Also nuts, brown sugar and some spices. Not the most balanced of beers but ok.

Draft. Mahogony beer with a cream colored head. Sweet caramel aroma. Sugar and caramel/toffee flavor with light yeast. Medium bodied. Sugar lingers with caramel/toffee. Needed a glass of water after this one - way too sweet.

Bottle. Thanks to Faroeviking for providing! It pours brown with a creamy off white head. The aroma is yeast, brown sugar, dark fruit and candy. Sweet fruity flavour with notes of spices, yeast, caramel, sweet malt and brown sugar. Long dark fruity finish.

Draft at The Ginger Man with Andrew. Pours a bright hazy orange with white lacing. Aroma is belgian candy, sweet malts. Mouthfeel is medium with pretty much just nice sweet candied flavor dominating.

50 cl bottle @ home, BBE 2015 on the label and xx.07.2012 on the neck
Aroma is sugary with syrup, spices, candi sugar, floury caramel and hints of roastiness. Also something German-like, maybe hops? Flavour is, surprisingly, rather sweet with brown and cane sugar. Also some belgian yeast, toffee and caramel. Something plastic-like occurs at the end of the glass. The sweetness doesn’t disturb as much as I expected. However, drinking the whole bottle by myself would be a mission impossible.

Draught at Farmer’s Cabinet . Poured with little head. Spice. Sugar. Raisin a dominant flavor. Fairly odd and different take.

Bottle sample at the 12% tasting at Blacklick Wine & Spirits on 12/15/11. Pours hazy brown with a thin tan head. Aroma of sugary caramel, toffee, tobacco, molasses and chocolate. Toffee and caramel flavor with a chocolatey, roasty finish. Very sweet, but unique and enjoyable.
