English: This is a true story about a dedicated belgian brother who spent all his hard earned money on a all inclusive Barbados vacation to pursue a life long dream – brew an old fashion dark Belgian infused with local muscovado sugar aka Barbados sugar – luckily the outcome is a first class candy coated, full-bodied and escapist beer – the best he ever made. Halleluja.

16.9 oz bottle dtd 7/17/12, so this is pretty well cellared at this point. Pours deep mahogany with a clingy head. Nose is brown sugar, raisins, caramel, plums, Belgian yeast. Tastes like figs, toffee, burnt brown sugar, some of the common Abbey-style spiciness. It's ok; expected something more... exotic, I guess, for the price. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle - pours pitch, tan head, tiny bubbles. The nose is leathery with some sugar cane notes. Quite sweet on the tongue with some lingering dryness. The alcohol is present. Overall, solid.

Bottle in Ulfborg, Denmark 2015-02-27. Murky brown with a small offwhite head. The aroma was better than the flavour, a bit odd beer, Feels a bit venous.

[email protected] Copper colour, small off-white head. Aroma is banana, spices, floral notes as well. Flavour is fruity, wooden and some mild herbal notes. OK, but a bit strange.

Koelschtrinker (20594) - Köln (Cologne), GERMANY - FEB 27, 2015
Süßlich herber Antrunk, deutlich belgischer Touch. Wenig säuerlich schokoladig im Mittelteil, sehr rund, gelungen. Gelungenes Bier. 9/8/9/9//9

(bottle - 500 ml) Murky brown with a thin tan head. Very mild, almost non-existent, aroma. Some light malts and not much else. Mild flavor. Some light malts and a touch of sweetness with a hint of bitterness at the end. Alright.

"Not sure what to think of this one. Overpriced for sure, and one of my least favorite Evil Twin beers to date. Not as yeasty as most BSAs but doesn’t really fit anywhere else either. String and a little sweet, with a unique hard to peg flavor, presumably from the muscovado sugar. "

Bottle. Cloudy dark brown body with a small beige head. Aroma of caramel, oranges, banana, plums. Taste is sweet, brown sugar, raisin, banana with a peachy and spicy yeast finish. Pretty sweet stuff, though the taste has a nice complexity which makes this an enjoyable beer. For sharing I might add.

DandyWolfFloyd (1212) - Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 7, 2014
Aroma - dark caramelized sugars, alcohol, somewhat nutty aroma, a little fig Appearance - very dark brown almost black; body is opaque; alcohol; tan head is about 2" and eventually rings out Taste - has a rich dark caramelized sugar presence; some fig, raisin, and a little bit of spices; there is a rich rum sort of quality Palate - body is heavy; the texture is sticky, thick, and slick; carbonation is lively; the finish is sort of alcoholic and a rich caramelized sugar sweetness.

markextrae (4424) - Alingsås, SWEDEN, SWEDEN - NOV 17, 2013
