COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Nomads; constantly moving, ’round and ’round; sometimes settle, if just for a bit. Perhaps the muse moves one to brew a sharp and clean session beer, one inspired by the Berliner-weisse of old, and the nomad rests. Enjoy this beer, here, there, perhaps north of Madison Square Park, in lovely New York City. Wherever you are, this beer was made nice, simply for you.

Pale yellow pour with a thin white head. The aroma is bright and lemony. Soft tartness and a bit of spice as well. There's a fruitiness and a bit of spice. Fuller bodied than is probably appropriate but it's plenty tasty.

Hazy light golden color with white head. Aroma has fermented grains, mostly wheat with lactic tartness. Taste follows with light to medium lactic tartness, lemon, grains, dry finish. Medium body and carbonation. Classic, well made, refreshing berliner.

Alengrin (6017) - BELGIUM - DEC 11, 2017
UPDATED: DEC 12, 2017 Evil Twin's 'standard' Berliner Weisse, from a can at De Kantien in Ghent. Snow white, medium sized head, not very stable and reduced to a thinnish moussy rim and open middle in instants, over a misty, ochre-tinged peach blonde beer. Aroma of unripe gooseberries and lemon juice, sour yoghurt, raw cucumber, sourdough, green apple, minerals, white bread, lime flesh. Crisp onset of unripe banana and green pear completely surrounded by a mild yet persisting, refreshing lemony sourness which stretches deep into the finish; fizzy carbonation, imposing minerally aspects on a very wheat-soapy, thinly 'white' bready body; this soapiness and breadiness defines the finish, coloured by this fresh, straightforward, lemon-like sourness. Less yoghurty and 'chalky' than I am used to from this style, more lemony, but refreshing enough, if simple and straightforward especially to Evil Twin's standards.
