Cloudy blond color with large head. The aroma is spicy, but also lightly floral and vegetable; and with delicate wine barrel presence. The mouthfeel is off-dry, but smooth; nice spicy yeast character, with an interesting zesty note, and then the red wine, with light fruitiness; the tannins are soft, they contribute with the yeast to the dirty feeling in the final.
Very good beer, well constructed and harmonious, although the final is less elegant. But the price is insane.

Hazy opaque color, small white head, lace. Nectar, exotic fruits in the hoppy nose. Medium-bodied. Exotic fruity flavor with some sweetness and hints of gooseberries.
Bottle at Sour & Bitter #2, pours a hazy golden with a medium white head. Aroma is unusual - red wine and Belgian yeast combined, with equal parts red wine and Belgian yeast. Also some musty herbal notes, and some weird body odour. Flavour is similarly odd, with an odd marriage of red wine and saison notes -- with herbal musty notes, complex red wine notes, earth, and body odour. Very bizarre mix of flavours. Not sure why youíd barrel age a saison in red wine barrels. The flavours arenít really complimentary. Itís not a disaster, but the flavours arenít harmonious at all. Decent experiment.
