Smell: boozey, sweet, bitter, chocolate, coffee, roasty
Taste: along the line as the aroma , only not as sweet as expected, also a bit of vanilla in the flavour , pretty good ..
RBBSG 2012 Left-over // thx to Benzai I assume but not sure // terrible name. ugly cover, seen this one around but yeah, doesn’t appeal to my uppity class // dark brown with a mocha head // sweet mocha, candy, chocolate, lots of milk chocolate, very candy / cake like, bitter hop and roast finish // needs to be a bit dookier, dear lord. I said it // I mean, smoother, creamier // make it stop MadRobin (2988) - Silver Spring, Maryland, USA - AUG 20, 2012

Bottle from Bacchanalia, Cambridge. Rather lively, had to open carefully. Opaque, almost black, pours big, thick, Creamy brown head with fine bubbles that persists well. Med-high carbonation. Aroma is thick, with rich Dark chocolate & cocoa, vanilla, caramel, some licorice, some rich alcohol (dark, woody rum) and bits of roast & coffee - A tribute to sweet, dark malts. Taste - Med sweetness, milky texture, loads of rich, dark chocolate, soft vanilla (like chocolate cake and vanilla ice cream), quite a bit of soy & salty licorice and some pineyness. Also a surprising bit of tanginess present throughout; noticeable hops (some fruity hop aroma/tastes mixed in) and some slight roasty, ashiness. Chocolate sauce sweetness aftertaste on the front of the tongue and some drier, ashy roast notes and spiciness left too, but sweetness dominates. Body is medium heavy, milky, smooth/soft. Very well done; vanilla is at a good level, not too overbearing, and not too sweet either. Rich, smooth, drinkable and the alcohol is brilliantly hidden. Lovely. UPDATED: AUG 12, 2012 tap at max’s. heavy sepia, rich, creamy coffee head that dissipates slowly. Dark chocolate dominates the nose, wood and vanilla underneath, sweet but quite balanced. Balanced flavor is quite sweet, sugary vanilla, chocolate at front, more wood and roasted malt mid with a return of vanilla at the end. Super creamy. Very sweet desert beer, neither dry or well hopped., but at least balanced and consistent. luttonm (6308) - Seattle, Washington, USA - AUG 9, 2012
Draft at the Pine Box, Seattle. Thick black with tall tan head. Rich lactic coffee and chocolate, heavy milkshake. Intense bitter coffee with thick, rich grape and prune, dark fruit, alcohol and barrels. Chocolate deep funk. Heavy lactic. Pretty interesting beer JPDurden24 (1675) - Chandler, Arizona, USA - AUG 9, 2012
Pours dark black with a thick tan head. Aroma has roasty vanilla with a hint of alcohol. Flavor has vanilla with some dark chocolate and coffee notes and a touch of alcohol. Very good! VertBaconStrips (2389) - Blerkablerka, VENEZUELA - AUG 5, 2012
Poured out silky smooth and black with a big creamy mediumish brown cap that lasts forever and leaves lovely rings on my glass. This smells wonderful - nothing strange, extra or added. Licorice spice, roast, oatmeal something, not overly sweet rich chocolate and the smell of unused coffee beans inside a bag. The taste is excellent. Citrus bite, sharp tartness, smooth choco bitterness, molasses, dirt, pepper. Highly drinkable. Long bitter and sometimes harsh aftertaste. Mild carbs. Better before reaching room temp. obguthr (6369) - Staunton, Virginia, USA - AUG 4, 2012
Espresso and chocolate nose. Black, headless. Chocolate syrup dominant. Charcoal finish. Rum appears upon warming. Excellent
