Little cloudy dark brown beer, small beige head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: lots of vanilla, caramel, chocolate, very sweet. MF: soft carbon, full body. Taste: lots of sweet caramel, vanilla, touch of bourbon, sweet but not cloying, mocha, milk chocolate. Aftertaste: lots of chocolate, sweet caramel, vanilla, touch of bourbon, sweet but nice, not cloying, some mocha in the end. Really nice and smooth stuff.
500ml bottle as Soft DK bought at Ølbutikken and shared at the Absalon tasting session ’12. Frothy tan-coloured, lacing-head. Jet black body. Choc-coffee aroma with mild roastiness. Similar taste profile supported by vanilla pods and a welcome malt-bitter tail. A powerful, grown-up brew (Copenhagen, hotel room, 12.05.2012). tastybeer (1853) - Indiana, USA - MAY 31, 2012
Draft. Pour is black with a tan head, little retention/some lace. Aroma of coffee, vanilla, cream, roast, baker’s chocolate. Taste is vanilla bean, cocoa, espresso, light roast. Palate is soft, creamy, big vanilla finish. Good.

Bottle shared with great beer friends at Baran, Bergen. Has a black colour with a small beige head. Coffee, dark chocolate and roasted malt in the aroma. Fantastic. The flavour is also wonderful with really a espresso coffe touch along with dark bitter chocolate and cocoa. Oily mouthfeel, and a medium bitterness. A really nice and joyful beer, and is well-balanced. rjkreid (191) - SCOTLAND - MAY 26, 2012
Vanilla and roasted malt. Soft creamy mouthfeel with a sweet chewy quality to the mouthfeel with a slight bubblegum quality to it. Interesting stout, very drinkable. KnutAlbert (6760) - Oslo, NORWAY - MAY 23, 2012
Dark beer, beige head. Liquorice, coffee, some salt. A little warming alcohol in the back. BBB63 (6557) - La Porte, Indiana, USA - MAY 17, 2012
Bottle (Soft DK) and served in my Stone IRS snifter: Pours opaque with a small creamy tan head which left very nice lacework upon the glass. The aroma has notes of double chocolate chip cookies, vanilla wafers, shot of espresso, slight woody smoke and peat, Japanese Ichijiku Fig and over ripened plums, even a bit hint of leather and pipe tobacco. Very inviting nose to this brew but I fear it could be too sweet... but alas the taste is fruity and malt forward but hardly cloy. Some coffeeish bitters and that earthy smoke along with the alcohol kept the sweetness in check. Lush bittersweet chocolate candy and vanilla ice cream highlights the experience. The mouth feel is smooth and oily, not as heavy as I would have imagined. Overall, I found this a very solid brew and one that I would easily buy again. Complex and dangerously drinkable. b3shine (9027) - Indiana, USA - MAY 15, 2012
UPDATED: OCT 20, 2012 Draft to snifter at Dutch’s. Looks good; somewhere between brown and black with nice lacing. Smells good too; coffee and malt. Tastes like it smells with good mouthfeel. I’m impressed.
