English: This stout looks like soft dookie and some will say it smells and tastes like it too. If you like a thick, creamy and utterly vanillalicious stout you’ll like this one. If you don’t, get yourself something else instead.

On tap at Mikkeller bar. Black with a small chocolate head that leaves some lacing. Aroma is liquorice, soy sauce, chocolate pudding. Slightly sweet on the palate, subtle touch of bitter chocolate and dryness on the finish. Taste is chocolate, chocolate milk powder, coffee, dates, vanilla. Quite enjoyable.

Pour opaque black, with a large frothy tan head, that lasts forever. Aroma of roasted coffee, bitter dark chocolate, milk chocolate, oatmeal, vanilla, slight rum-soaked raisins. Aftertaste is quite hoppy, and smokey. Taste is sweet upfront, with a long and delicious smokey and bitterness at the end. weak boozy in here as well. Medium body, with a flat carbonation. Quite smooth. Can’t wait for my next "soft Dookie" ;)

Rating #729, bottle from Toft Vin. Completely blak beer with a brown head. Not even a bit of brown or transparency when put close to a lamp. Chocolaty aroma, tar and liqourice. Sweet flavor , chocolate, liqourice, vanilla, bitterness and slightly citrusy. Soft, thick, creamy. Just great.

_angst_ (4802) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - APR 20, 2012
500 ml bottle bought @ Systembolaget. Cellared for about 1 year. Pours pitch black with a rather small frothy and fizzy dark brown head that leaves some thick lacing on the glass while dissipating. Smell is very sweet with roasted malts, vanilla, white rum, milk chocolate, raisins and very subtle hints of pure alcohol and solvents. Taste is sweet and bitter with milk chocolate, cocoa, roasted malts, vanilla, dried dark sweet fruits, very ripe grapes, wood, fudge, smoke and alcohol. Mouthfeel is tiny watery, silky, round and medium bodied. Finish is tiny sweet and quite bitter with roasted malts, coffee, bitter chocolate, vanilla and alcohol. Still a bit boozy and lacks the full body I want from a good imperial stout but still is a quite good beer.

This was too good a deal to pass up so I ordered some while hanging out with others and playing some pool. It was so good I almost wanted to open the ones I had picked up as soon as I got home and finish up the set. Evil Twin is definitely on my radar for the short term now.

Aroma / Appearance - Oily black like the slicks of grease from a wet road the body snakes its way around the glass. Black coffee, ash, and dry malts amp up the intensity despite not being the deepest and most complex imperial stout on the planet.

Flavor / Palate - Black coffee, plums, and anise bite at the back of throat immediately. Creamy like a mouthfeel of vanilla the transition to the dry smoky finish. One of those beers that is worth the price tag, even if you second guess it at the time, you owe it to yourself to treat your palate to at least one of their imperial stouts.

Yorker (2007) - Herning, DENMARK - APR 5, 2012
50 cl bottle @ home. Pours black (some sediment) with a fairly large mocha head that slowly fades leaving some lace. Aroma is sweet chocolate, vanilla, coffee, molasses, and a small amount of hops. Taste is slightly bitter with hints of chocolate, coffee, and vanilla.

Bottle shared by jtclockwork at the willblake’s in NJ tasting, thanks James. Poured a full thick foamy beige head sitting over top a medium density black body. Aroma is slightly sharp alcohol blended with dark chocolate, pudding skins, vanilla extract, rum soaked cake. The body is medium to a touch thinner for the big ABV with average carbonation. Flavor of dry chocolate, bread, nutt shells, coccoa, vanilla candle wax. Was hoping for a bit more from this one but still solid.
