Salmoniform (1272) - Sweet Home, Oregon, USA - JAN 1, 2014
Poured from bottle to glass. Dark black with tan head. Aroma is estery, barnyard, pepper, earthy, sweet, slight smokiness. Mouthfeel is nice with a light body and good carbonation level. Taste is dry but slightly sweet initially with a dry slightly astringent bitterness following and a clean finish. Overall, this is ok...not as smoky as I would have expected and not as funky either...but a nice refreshing beer nonetheless. Mora2000 (6158) - McKinney, Texas, USA - DEC 8, 2013
Dark brown to black pour with a tan head. The aroma has some smoke and ash notes as well as some Belgian yeast. The flavor is similar. I get a lot of ashy and burnt wood notes as well as some heavily roasted malt, Belgian yeast and grass. Medium mouthfeel and high carbonation. TBone (17544) - Pori, FINLAND - NOV 30, 2013

Dark amber-brown color, almost opaque. Tiny off-white head. Nose is very light - berries, some caramel, light tobacco. Medium-bodied. Caramel, licorice, toasted smoked ham flavor. Can’t find much Saison here. On paper better beer than in reality.
Found this at Bottleworks, bottled 26OCT12
Black with a light tan etch across the surface. Smells of earth, yeast, clay, some light smoke, some cocoa, and a touch of tobacco. Flavor is light, some oaky mesquite character earthy yeast and a little bit of alcohol and some bitterness. Medium body with light carb and a semi dry finish. Not really into it. merc7186 (3142) - North Tonawanda, New York, USA - NOV 7, 2013

Bottle. Pours very dark brown with off-white head. Smells fruit, figs and raisins. Tastes very much like a saison mixed with a porter, almost has a slight bretty taste to it. Light to medium bodied, medium carbonation, smooth easy. Not much of a finish. A decent beer. Unique. Glad that I tried it, but not sure I’d get it again. CaveSpider (26) - - NOV 6, 2013
smells smoky and chocolaty with a nice fruity backbone. Dark black color with a hint of ruby. Nice thin tan head. Taste is wonderfully unique like a smoked ported mixed with great saison. Smokey yet light and fruity. I think this beer is great Hanuta06 (469) - Washington, USA - NOV 6, 2013
Serving: from bottle--purchased at Full Throttle Bottles.
Aroma: light, floral hop aroma.
Appearance: large, rocky, light-brown, initial head. Dark-brown body.
Taste: lightly acidic initial flavor and moderately bitter, smokey finish with average duration.
Palate: light-to-medium body with watery texture and lively carbonation.
Overall: very good. KansaiBeerLvrs (5153) - Kyoto, JAPAN - NOV 5, 2013
At the First Kinki Beer Tasting. The cola brown pour revealed a malty milk chocolate with some hops aroma. The taste was citrus, sour & not all that saison like on a medium body ok but maybe getting past it’s best... I didn’t get any smoke from it either... doublebock (558) - California, USA - NOV 4, 2013
Aroma: Chocolate with a bit of smokiness
Appearance: Black with thin beige head
Taste: Has the palate of black lager with a caramel and smoked malt flavor
Overall: Im not a big fan of smoked beer but this one does a good job of providing that smoke profile while not crossing that line into that artificial taste of Rauchbeer.
