Poured into a pilsener glass, the appearance was a semi-glossy ruddy orange color with a touch of carbonation seen rising to fill a finger and a half’s worth of foamy white head quickly dieing off. Messy lace.
The aroma starts off with sweet grassy and citrusy hops. Subtle crisp earthy sweetness. Light malt contour.
The flavor insists upon the smoke first and then ends up developing on into a nice blend between the grassy and citrusy bitter and earthy hops. Touch of sweet at the bottom. Crisp smoked to citrusy aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a pretty good sessionability about it. Fairly low carbonation. Good ABV, felt appropriate.
Overall, pilsener with a smoked aspect about it, I see. Sure, why not. I get it Evil Twin and this is quite good. hopdog (12382) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 28, 2017
22oz bottle. Poured a hazy golden color with a larger sized head. Fruity, light citrus, and a lighter smokiness. Aggiebob (1102) - Huntsville, Alabama, USA - FEB 24, 2017
Bottle. It poured a murky orange almost like fruit puree with a big frothy white head and lacing. Strong smokiness in the aroma and flavor that is missing the clean pilsner finish. willisread (3299) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - FEB 17, 2017
Bottle from West Side. Pours a clear, deep gold color with a finger of foam that lingers. Big, grainy pils nose up front, as it warms leather, smoke and grain appear. Clean and crisp with a liquid smoke, bacon, umami quality on the palate. More grain. Lingering smokey finish with some pepper and beef jerky notes. jgb9348 (6196) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - JAN 29, 2017
Hazy golden and light copper body with a dense, large six centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of lightly smoked malt with some specialty grains and oatmeal noticeable as well. Light-bodied; Strong smokey flavour at first with some meaty and mushroomy flavours and a touch of grain and metallic notes. Aftertaste shows only the malt and a little sweetness from caramel with the smoked flavours going away and no complexity at all. Overall, nice to see a beer style that probably can’t be too easy to brew, but this just isn’t that good and not worth searching for. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Merchant’s in Dearborn, Michigan on 24-July-2015 for US$2,99 sampled at home in Washington on 28-January-2017.

12fl oz bottle at home from FirmaBier. Nose bread, light smoky. Body is slightly opalescent orange amber, head is small, white, creamy, mostly diminishing, good lacing. Aroma is bread, cheese, grain, tofu, pasta. Light sweet, medium bitter. Finish is medium lasting hoppy medium bitter umami, light salty. Medium body, slick texture, average carbonation. Quite easy, tasty, interesting, not much smoke, nice one. mike_77 (6597) - Breda, NETHERLANDS - OCT 4, 2016

Rating #2246 - 2015.12.13 - Bottle #13 in the 2015 Craft BeerAdvent Calendar ours a straw yellow with a bubbly white head. Distinct smoky aroma, campfire. Very unique body, mild alcohol warmth, predominant smokiness on the palate tempered with the crisp, grassy notes of the pilsner. Light style not smoked out, very complimentary.
