Clear medium to dark red brown colour with a small to average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, bread, malt, wood, oak, alcohol, dark fruit - dried fruit, light grape - wine. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a long duration, wood - oak, alcohol. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. 
33 cl bottle. Pours dark brown with a deep amber glare and a small tan head. Aroma is yeasty and fruity, toasted malty. Dry malty and light fruity. Mild acidic. Hazy deep red - amber beer, bubbly tan head. Palate is smooth and dry. modest fine carbonation. Nice malts, rich unsweet toffee, very slight burned. Touch of wood. Mild sherry and a trace of sweet dried fruits. Finishes smooth with alcohol. well not hot, but numbing the gums. Nice barleywine.

Bottled. Deep ambery brown colour with a small off-white head, that leaves some lace. Aroma is chocolate, some sweet malts, toffee, mild wooden notes as well as some ripe fruit and Madeira wine. Flavour is rather sweet with ripe fruits and berries, toffee as well as some mild alcohol and a bit wooden notes. Wellbalanced and quite tasty. Taste comprises mellow dark fruit shreds, dates, figs, light wood, toffee, toasted brown sugars, spice.
Medium + body, fine carbonation, warming alcohol in the close.
Solid mellow and balanced barley wine, ageing well, great sipper.
