Rich chestnut brown with reddish hues and nothing much in the way of a head.
Nose is earthy fruit rinds, light spice, barrel notes, fruit cake, brandy note, toffee fudge.
Taste comprises mellow dark fruit shreds, dates, figs, light wood, toffee, toasted brown sugars, spice.
Medium + body, fine carbonation, warming alcohol in the close.

Bottle at SBWF 2013. Clear dark amber beer with a small head. Lovely vinous aroma, raisins, dades, plums, caramel, toffee, vanilla, chocolate, grapes, some licorice. Bottle at Sour & Bitter #2, pours a deep dark amber with a tiny beige / tan head. Aroma of deep dark fruits, subdued red wine barrels, caramel, and a bit of residual sugar. Flavour of perfume, red wine barrels, caramel, and some residual sugars. There is a bit of sweetness, but also a pronounced dryness. Opaque black color, small beige head. Woody, soya sauce, caramel, Madeira, vanilla in the nose. Full-bodied, sticky palate. berries, ticky sweet dessert wine. Woody, light hoppy notes and vanilla. Not too sweet. Great.

Bottle - Alcohol, licorice, molasses, dark roast and sweet dark fruit barrel notes. Jet brown with a thin rich light brown head. Molasses, soy, licorice and chocolate. Finishes nice and sweet with a bit of barrel and burn on the throat. Great oily mouth feel and everything in balance. A bit darker in look and flavor, but still really good. [5/16/16] Draught at Himmeriget in Copenhagen. Batch #1. Dark brown with red hues. Great aroma of port, malt, caramel, cookies, some vanilla, dark fruits (lots of raisins and prunes). Sweet and slightly sourish flavor with wine, raisins, prunes, caramel, some vanilla. Full-bodied. Great.
