Rich sherry, rum, fruity, sweet not heavy, like a Pedro ximinez. Lightly hazy pale amber, little by way of head. Perfect beer for cheese. Excellent
Bottle from Appalachian vintner. Pours brown with a very thin khaki head. Smells of red wine and molasses. Diesel on the tongue with some wood notes to round of the flavor. Finish lingers. not a big fan of the style and this one seems typical of it. DialSquare (5068) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JUN 23, 2014

Pours dark brown to black with minimal tan head. Aroma of dried fruit and berries, molasses, port barrel, very very sweet. Taste is huge alcohol sweet with port, malaga, raisins. Light bitter in the finish but, yeah, mostly sweet. Creamy, rich body with flat carbonation.

Bottle. Hazy dar brown body, small beige head. Aroma of wood, tobacco, chocolate, plums and raisins. Sweet toffee taste with tart berries, toasted malt, vanilla and alcohol. Rich sweetness, full body, with a wine-like aftertaste. A very good beer. theisti (4142) - Kansas, USA - MAR 19, 2013
8 oz draft at Tørst, poured in a White wine glass. The pour is a deep brown, almost black with a think one inch khaki head that was firm and lasting. The aroma is big sweet malt, roast, almost char, and a decent amount of alcohol booziness. The taste is big on the sweetness, which shows as more of a chocolate caramel in the taste, though the more traditional malt sweetness is present as well. I also pick a wood - grain type flavor which is a bit hard to describe. The big booze is present, particularly in the lingering finish. The palate is medium to heavy bodied, though the mouth feel has some slickness which lightens the finish considerably. Low carbonation rate, and of course the sweet alcohol heat. I am not a huge fan of big, boozy sweet beers, and this was certainly one of them. ansalon (3910) - Stockholm, SWEDEN, SWEDEN - OCT 25, 2013

330 ml bottle. Pours a very dark brown with light head. Aromas of brown sugar, malt extract, and dark fruit. Flavors are rich and same with an additional Christmas cake spiciness. I’ll take the front room over the back.
