Small brown bubbly mediumlasting head. (At the festival: no head, looks very cloudy) Aroma is rich and sweet, dark malts, toffee, salty caramel, dark sugar, vanilla, bourbon, chocolate, raisins, licorice, tangerine. Taste is sweet and slightly concentrated, dark malts, salty caramel, raisins, dark sugar, cocoa, oak, licorice, vanilla. Medium bitterness, dry mouthfeel. Damn this was good shit! A nice barleywine, madeira, licorice and bourbon barrel aging perfect mixed in one beer!? How can it get much better than that!?
Pours very dark mahogany with a small wispy yellow head. The aroma is filled with raisins, crem brûlée, chocolate, caramel, apricot, and cedar. The mouthfeel is decadent but somehow light. Super well balanced. On the palate it is sweet and rich. Yum.

Dark mahogany with scant, beige head, no lacing (BA) / Rich, deep, sweet nose of sherry, dark fruit, chocolate, caramel / Full body, smooth, modestly chewy, sweet but with excellent balance, just a hint of bitterness, light heat / Flavors of date, fig, chocolate, caramel, light sherry barrel / Nicely restrained, not a monster, with good complexity. Magnifico crossover con textura aterciopelada y grasa a la vez, paladar dulce bien balanceado y un intenso aroma de Pedro Ximenez y maltas oscuras: mermelada de arándano, pan de higo y chocolate negro. Muy fina, de sofá.

Rating #1232 - 15.08.2014 Bottle from CBI. Nut brown pour, bubbly head, not much lacing. Aroma is red wine, alcohol, pastry dough Taste is an alcoholic blast, lots of hoppy bitterness tempered with a ton of pastry malt sweetness on the palate. Just a big bold beer for flavour-lovers. Dark mahogany color with small head. Nice aroma, with strong nutty and molasses presence; light fruity touch, light smoke, raisins. Full bodied, with light carbonation; rich malt and caramel flavor, with just a vein of roasted malt; nice balanced sweetness; the Malaga wine is clearly detected; light smoke touch; the final has a soft nuttiness and soft woody astringency. Well constructed, complex.
Bottle at Sour & Bitter #2. Clear dark brown - offwhite head. Barley. Red grapes. Dark fruits. Raisins. Light bisquit. Dried fruits. Caramel. Fruity. Nutty. Light fig notes. Rubber. Knækbrød notes. Light bitterness. Lovely.
