640 ML bottle
from Page Bottler Canberra

Jet black with light tan head that falls to a thick collar. Some spotty lacing and some AVB legs.
Nose is coco, almond, coffee, roast and burnt grain. Touches of marzipan. Fairly soft nose.
Taste is almond, coffee, roast, chocolate and coffee. Soft ancho chili spice and faint cinnamon.
Medium bodied, light carbonation. Not as forward and as aggressive as Mexican cake. Kind of unimpressed as a softer version.

UPDATED: DEC 8, 2017 Pours black with brown head. Chocolate, coffee and malty aroma. A pepper kick with chocolate, coffee, and vanilla - all which lingers. Not much cinnamon.

davidezdonz (607) - Hong Kong, HONG KONG - DEC 8, 2017
A 22 fl. oz. bomber with no bottled on or best before date. Poured into a snifter. It was a slick motor oil black colour with pretty much no head or lacing. Aromas of cocoa, chocolate, coffee, nutty, liquorice (maybe), spicy pepper with hints of cinnamon. Tastes of rich milk chocolate, coffee, vanilla, cinnamon with habanero pepper lightly lingering on the finish. Creamy, medium to full bodied with low carbonation. Overall really nice, a great sipper with very nice creaminess and lingering but not overpowering spiciness.

UPDATED: DEC 6, 2017 Botella 66 cl en Cimmeria 06..12..2017. (r342).

fkoolen (1356) - Maastricht, NETHERLANDS - DEC 6, 2017
UPDATED: DEC 6, 2017 Draught @ Van Moll, Eindhoven. Very dark brown colour, creamy beige head. Roasted malty espresso, bitter cacao, creamy, almonds, butterscotch, vanilla, boozy/peppery. Well balanced. Lingering boozy, roasted malty coffee aftertaste. Good body, medium carbonation.

Muggus69 (2751) - Yarram, Vic, AUSTRALIA - DEC 3, 2017
650mL bottle from Slowbeer.
Thick pitch black pour; holds a small dense dark tan rim.
Very intense aroma - dark chocolate/cocoa, espresso, cinnamon, vanilla, smoky dried chilli, touch of capsicum, sort of dusty earthy.
Body thick, low carbonation, syrupy, long, not overly boozy, drying spice, warming chilli.
Much of the same on the body - like a Mexican hot chocolate - cocoa, espresso, chilli warmth, boozy warmth, sweet spices, touch of marzipan lingers.
Be perfect on a cold winters night!

tmoreau (4670) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - NOV 28, 2017
On tap at Lunar Brewing Co. dispensed to a snifter displaying an opaque, black/brown hue, with a presentable layer of brownish tan froth, and foamy spots of lacing. The nose was highly roasted, with maltiness that expressed a bit of freezer burn scent, woodiness & nuttiness, cocoa, some dark caramel sweetness, subtle spice, and a touch dark cherry. Full bodied, syrupy, a bit sticky, with low carbonation, the taste was as the aroma notes, plus peppery, earthy and roasted bitterness that combined with the noticeable alcohol to project a pronounced astringency. Pleasant warmth was an added bonus.

UPDATED: NOV 29, 2017 Draft pours black with a tan head. Aroma of peppers, chocolate, cinnamon and coffee. Taste is cinnamon, cocoa and a hint of the pepper on the back end

bubbleflubber (2241) - Swannanoa, North Carolina, USA - NOV 26, 2017
Pours an opaque black into the glass, with a thin head that reduces to trace to no lacing of which to speak. Aromas are of dark esters, pie spices and alcohol. Flavors are similar, of burnt toffee and caramel, dark fruity esters, licorice, pepper skins (with very light "seed" heat noted), dark baker's and semi-sweet chocolates, dark chocolate cake (with said breadiness) finishes with a dark estery fruit, and light habanero pepper spice. The complex palate and substantial full body make for a very nice take on the Impy Stout. Having had some of the traditional "Mexican" complexities in their native country, I will attest that Evil Twin has definitely taken these ingredients and incorporated them with dignity into this wonderful take on the imperial stout. Aclamaciones!
