Closer in flavor to a coffee IPA than a coffee brown ale, with a massive citric-herbal hop backbone offset by tons of juicy, strong java. Starts with a dry, semisweet malt note with hints of toast and caramel, then quickly develops a heavy hop presence, big on grapefruit, pine, and black pepper. Hops dominate until the coffee kicks in, acidic and mildly vinous and strong, leading to a black coffee fade laced with fruity hop goodness. Nose gives off a lovely coffee aroma, and the pour is absolutely gorgeous, coming out a clear orange-brown with a giant off-white head and tons of lacing. Good palate as well, smooth and creamy yet carbonated enough to keep the coffee from growing overbearing. Great beer.

Pint-sized can. Pours hazy dark ruby with a beige head. Aroma of gentle roasted coffee, slight citrus, spices, slight caramel. Taste is semi-dry with noticeable bitterness. Flavors of intense citrus and exotic fruits intermingled with gentle coffee-like notes, very slight caramel and hazelnut. Medium-length citrusy and coffee finish. Medium to full body, slick smooth texture, average carbonation. Honestly, I just can't say I'm not disappointed. The beer feels like a AIPA with lots of US hops, the coffee notes are barely noticeable. Well, it's a crying shame, I guess.

UPDATED: SEP 9, 2017 Sourkraut (!!) in the aroma with notes of caramel, some spicy touch. Deep copper in the glass, minimal head. Taste is dry with some estery notes (red fruitiness) to hoppy touch. More Red Ale than brown IMO. Not a disaster, but definitely a flawed one.

Brązowe, z umiarkowanie wysoką, ale ładną i trwałą pianą. W aromacie intensywna kawa, delikatna paloność. W smaku dominanta kawy i znowuż delikatna paloność. Gładkie, ale odrobinę wodniste. Alkohol dobrze zakamuflowany. Wysycenie niskie. Niezłe.

Can. Poured a clear dark brown color with an average frothy tan head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted sweet malt, coffee and nut aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Solid toasted sweet coffee flavor with a medium coffee sweet finish of moderate duration. Good complex brew.

16 oz can shared by Tmoney99. Pours a copper brown color with a medium sized beige head. The aroma and flavor have toasted malts, good coffee character, mild earthy notes, good brown though not overly complex.

16 oz 1 pint can. Chalky aroma with malt undertones. Pours brown with a big rocky tan head. Flavor follows the nose with a dry malty taste. Low carbonation but long a sour finish where the coffee finally shows up. Pretty good but not my favorite brown.

Can. Brown with red hue in color, tan head. Coffee and nutty notes in aroma. Strong cold coffee here. Quite nice coffee notes in taste as well.

16 oz can. Batch #004. (Alko) Tampere, Finland. Dark reddish brown color with a small light tan head. Coffee, caramel and sweetness in the aroma. The flavor is coffee, bitterness, hops, caramel, malt and sweetness. Bitterness is strong. The beer looks like a Coke jelly in the glass. Beautiful. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
