Imperial India Black Stout. This is a complete RTD Black and Tan. Not just any Black and Tan but the one where we flawlessly mixed a flippant good Imperial IPA with a profoundly evil Imperial Stout and sustained sweet beer balance. 33% Stout and 67% IPA.

I actually bought the Yin and Yang separately and mixed them together. Absolutely delicious combination and mix of flavors with the IPA and Stout. Thick and rich overflowing head, rich dark color, and inviting aroma!

Piana obfita, drobnopęcherzykowa, całkiem trwała, zwarta. Lacing świetny. Barwa czarna z lekkimi ciemnymi rubinowymi prześwitami. Przepiękne bąbelki które można było zaobserwować jak goniły pianę. Aromat coś niesamowitego, połączenie palonych, kawowo czekoladowych nut z niesamowitymi chmielami. Dyzo cytrusów i iglasto sosnowych klimatów. W smaku słodowe, czekoladowo karmelowe, a później do akcji wkraczają chmiele i robi się grejpfrutowo i sosnowo. Wysycenie średnie, pełne, z naprawdę konkretną sosnowo iglastą goryczką.

Bottle from SB. Almost black with medium head. Hoppy aroma & taste. Wonderful beer! Great mix of DIPA & Stout.

Bottled (thanks Kimi!). Quite much black colour with a small beige head. Aroma is fruity, mild roasted, quite "strong alcohol without being evident alcohol", liquorice, and wood. Flavour is quite strong floral, fruity and salted liquorice like notes. Mild alcohol and some slight resiny and wooden notes. Big salted liquorice finish. Imperial Black IPA would be the fitting style. Jeppe, I am not sorry for bashing the biscuits, but for hating IPA/DIPA, and especially the paradox of a Black IPA (Cascadian Dark Ale is better, and for this, imperial in front), this beer ... I fucking love this!

UPDATED: SEP 5, 2014 Bottle @ home thx to benzai. Clear dark red brown colour with a deep ruby redness shining through, full off-white head. Smells roasty, chocolate, grapefruit, coffee. Amazing smell. If the taste is as great as the smell this will be my new favorite beer. Tastes some iron, hops, grapefruit, pine, roasty, some roastyness. Amazing beer. When blending the yin and yang myself i didn’t achieve this. Full body great carbo. The initial taste of a perfect IPA with the aftertaste of an amazing stout. This is my favorite black IPA. Hell, this is my favorite beer.

Combine two beers of about equal awesomeness and you somehow get something that’s even more awesome than either is by itself. That convoluted sentence is courtesy of my blown mind. It’s amazing how the combined flavors compliment each other. Somehow Yang brings out more of Yin’s chocolate and tobacco elements. Yin, on the other hand, enhances the dank cannabis notes in Yang. In a way, it’s wrong to focus on the individual beers in this blend since this beer has such lovely harmony but I can’t help it after having each on their own. My head hurts. I’ll just stop.

From Saveur-Biere. In Teku glass. Watching Los Soprano 1x08. DIPA in nose, soft IS in mouth at beginning and end of sip, hoppy in the middle. Much more drinkable than their separate parts, alcohol unnoticeable

Pours a very dark opaque brown, with a medium tan head and some lace. Aroma is licorice, roasted malt caramel, resin, chocolate and coffee. Flavour is roasted malt, citrus, resin, chocolate, coffee, licorice, burnt, medium-high bitterness and caramel.

It’s perfectly clear, dark copper color, with beautiful head. Very nice aroma of dark malts, but yet it’s so fresh and lite. It’s the same history in the taste. IPA start, CDA finish and huge stout in aftertaste. It’s a bomb of flavours and aromas. Huge and awesome beer.
