Medium aroma of malts, caramel, dark fruit, chocolate, molasses, mocha, roasted malts and coffee.
Opaque black beer with a slight/medium brown/dark brown head.
Starts medium/heavy sweet with malts, caramel, dark fruit, chocolate, molasses and mocha; ends slightly bitter and dry with roasted malts and coffee.
This beer is intense, complex and balanced. A super roasted beer with loads of coffee. The start of this beer is mildly sweet with a bit of dark fruit and chocolate, bit even here the burned flavour of the molasses shine through. The aroma could have been stronger and the palate thicker, but the flavour is amazing and the appearance is perfect.
Cocoa, roasted notes, black with a good tan head, medium body, low carbonation, a bit oily, again roasted notes and a strong bitter final...good but, for me, quite boring. tmzl (320) - SLOVENIA - FEB 11, 2017
Bready coffee, very cozy, hint of smoke?, light-med roasted bitterness, very smooth and drinkable. jgb9348 (6438) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - FEB 6, 2017
Deep dark brown coloured body with a thinnish, fast-dying tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, oatmeal, alcohol, cereal and a good dose of lactose. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong roasty flavour with a lot of oatmeal and grain noticeable, coupled with some light chocolate, a touch of coffee, earth and a nutty flavour that has some alcohol warmth, but pretty well hidden at 10% abv. Aftertaste shows some chocolate and deep malty flavours and a bit of nuts, but a mellow and uninspired complexity for sure. Overall, a good beer, but not great, nor a must-have, but as an Imperial Stout, if you love the style, then worth trying, otherwise, probably a waste of liver capacity or money, as there are better options. I preferred this one compared to the Yang, in their respective styles. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from the Crystal City Wine Shop in Arlington, Virginia (20th Street Location) on 12-December-2014 for US$3,89 sampled at home in Washington on 05-February-2017, alongside the Evil Twin Yang in a horizontal tasting.

Pours black with a small, non-dense tan head. Nose is roasted coffee, cocoa, soy souce, some smoke and alcohol are also there. Taste begins bitter, with notes of coffee liquor-like alcohol, cocoa nibs and smoked wood. It ends with a slightly burnt flavour and a boozy kick. Full bodied, oily, low carbonation. Bitter, malty finish. Very good. Korcz (3389) - Warsaw, POLAND - JAN 18, 2017
