Aroma of coffee, mocha, espresso, roasted malts and caramel. Appears black with a thin tan foam. Taste follows nose as it is very coffee/espresso forward in flavor. Dry roasted malts, subtle cocoa, earth and burnt caramel notes mid palate. Finish is more dryness and subtle booze. Overall, a decent Imperial Stout. Not a whole lot special about it. superspak (5591) - Michigan, USA - AUG 27, 2014
12 ounce bottle into snifter, bottled on 10/23/2013. Pours pitch black color with a 1 finger dense dark tan head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, raisin, plum, toast, dark bread, light char/smoke, herbal, light pine, and roasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good complexity and balance of dark/roasted malt and light-moderate earthy/piney hop notes; with good strength. Taste of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, toast, dark bread, raisin, plum, light char/smoke, pine, herbal, and roasted earthiness. Good amount of pine/roasted bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toast, dark bread, molasses, raisin, plum, light char, herbal, pine, and roasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity and balance of dark/roasted malt and moderate earthy/piney hop flavors; with a great roasted malt/hop bitterness/sweetness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and fairly full bodied; with a very smooth, creamy, and lightly slick/chalky mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent imperial stout. All around great complexity and balance of dark/roasted malt and moderate earthy/piney hop flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the big ABV. A very enjoyable offering. Appearance: near black, with brown edges; little to no head; surprisingly watery pour. Aroma: ash, charred wood, soy sauce, black licorice, dark chocolate, espresso. Taste: bitter dark chocolate, ash tray, cold coffee, salted black licorice, peaty scotch. Finish: watery finish, with a slight boozy burn and bitter chocolate-coffee notes. Notes: Wow. Really disappointing. Palate was weak and watery, flavors trended to ashy, salty, and watery. Much better when mixed with the Yang. Expected much better given the reviews. Perhaps I had a bad bottle.

A bitch black beer with an almost medium and brown head. The nose has rich malts, liquirice, coffee, sweetness, dark bread and some chocolate. Taste is powerful, lots of coffee, roastiness and salt liquirice. Enough of bitterness that is slightly herbal, not too sweet. Full bodied, low carbonation, not stickyness, not too heavy. Quite straightforward and rough IS but still good and tastefull beer. azzie (822) - Pula, CROATIA - AUG 20, 2014
Bottle. Dark thick liquid with ocher head. Full body, light carbonation. Creamy. Light sweetness. Bitterness like one in dark chocolate with 85+% of cocoa. Lightly smoked. Taste of caramel and cocoa. Very good one.

Pours a dark brown with a foamy tan head. Aroma is dark chocolate, roast, and bourbon. Flavor is chocolate, bourbon, and some sweet fruit. There’s moderate bitterness. Good, just not as flavorful or aromatic as other imperial stouts. veceo (1362) - Pula, CROATIA, - AUG 15, 2014
Pitch black color, thin brown head. Aroma of chocolate and coffee. Full body, soft carbonation. Medium sweet, light bitter taste. Finish is long and bitter. Good stuff. Trolleo (1566) - Pula / Zagreb, CROATIA - AUG 13, 2014
Dark as hell, medium sized tan head. Big coffee aroma, some dark chocolate, brown sugar and alcohol, but not as much as I would expect from abv 10%. Roasty. Nice oily texture. Full bodied and flat carbonated. Awesome!

Bottle consumed at Cropredy ’Fairports Annual Reunion’ Festival, Cropredy, Oxon, Friday 8th August 2014 Pours black with a sticky beige head. Really heavy treacle, sticky and drinling an awful lot easier than a 10% beer should. Some sweet liquorice leaves a lingering roasty taste in mouth. Thick black, loose brown head dissipates quickly. Aroma of rich coffee and dark chocolate. Loads of hop and roast bitterness. Dark fruit flavors quickly overwhelmed by dark chocolate and roast malt flavors. Very full body. Nice imperial stout but lacking some of the complexity of a great example.
