330ml brown bottle. Best before 2015. Black, opaque, dense looking body, the head is thick and creamy, it is light brown. big rings of lace are left behind. Nose has thick cocoa and roasty malt. Taste has big roast, liquid dark chocolate, subtle bitterness. Finishes dry, lingering roast. Silky in the mouth, but full bodied, carbonation is light. Big, and very drinkable. An excellent beer for its price.

12 ounce can. Opaque black color topped by a moderate frothy tan head. Mild roasted malt nose hints at charcoal and espresso. Rich, creamy roasted malt flavor. Bittersweet chocolate, espresso and resiny hops. Smooth and drinkable, though warming alcohol comes through in finish.

(Evil Twin Yin) Bottle 355ml at home, served into a snifter, ABV 10% Totally black colour on the body, tall and thick dark brown head but with low retention. Aroma of roasted malts, some liquorice, plenty of chocolate. Taste follows, liquoruice, roasted malts, coal, some peat too in there, chocolate, well hidden alcohol. Kinda bummed to find out Yin and Yang dont balance out, since Yins a much better stout than Yang is a DIPA. Not that bummed, though, because drinking Yins a pretty damn nice thing to do. Massive amounts of roasted malt and chocolate sit atop a bitter, dark roast finish. Sweet cocoa, raisin and anise are rounded out by a firm but manageable bitter finish, and the fade is pure sweet Imperial Stout goodness. Not quite the looker as its brother, but the nose is spot-on, and the alcohols an afterthought. Tasty. Tastier when mixed. Not sure why, but Im just gonna accept the mystery on this one.

Keg, cask, London center. Pours black and opaque with a thin tan head residing to a rim. Scent is medium dense notes of tobacco Stout with notes of caramel. Taste is consistent with light notes of wood and cherry. Finish is light sticky and a bit simple for my expectations. Very good.
