12 oz bottle into a pint glass. A: Pours a nearly pitch black color. The head stands tall at three fingers high, khaki shaded. Texture-wise, it seems more soapy than creamy, but still, this has good retention for a 10% beer. Some spotty patches of lacing are left behind. S: This has a lot of licorice for my tastes. Seriously, a lot. Apart from that, this beer still brings the roast, still brings the chocolate, and even brings something resembling peat. Theres even some slight citrusy hops floating around. Even with all the aniseed, this has a very appealing aroma. T: I said the aroma brings the roast. Well, thats not the case here - because it REALLY brings the roast, like a charred sledgehammer. The roasted notes are mainly clustered near the finish; before that, it starts with a combination of fruitiness and licorice. It also finishes with slight wisps of chocolate and booze (just enough to add to the experience, mind). Im really enjoying how charred the roasted malts are in particular. M: It starts off really dry finishing in spite of the creamy body, and combined with its slightly thin body, gives it great drinkability. The finish becomes becomes a lot wetter as more is consumed - its almost like said feature is an omen for me to stop slamming this. Too bad, because I absolutely adore a slammable imperial stout (Black Albert, anyone?) Carbonation is medium. O: Make no mistake, this is really damn good. A bit pricey for me to purchase this frequently, though. Highly recommended for roast lovers.

Bottle to tulip - pours spent motor oil, cappuccino head, thin and elusive. Aroma of dark roast coffee, leather, cocoa and vanilla...Perhaps smoke and dark fruit. Medium body and carb. Flavor is coffee, chocolate covered cherry, bittersweet chocolate, cocoa powder and a plum finish. Excellent.

MIKKELLER BAR Kopenhagen. 0,2/50DKK. Fass.

Bottle, 330 ml, shared with JFK10000. Pours black with dense light brown head. Coffee, roasted, cocoa, licorice, sweet with bitter finish. Oily. Unfortunately alcohol is too aggressive, too boozy for me. Medium bodied, some more body would be better.
