asimeow (268) - Sandsli, NORWAY - JUL 3, 2015
0,5l bottle. Kinda worried about this one. It’s retired and from the info on the bottle, this looks to be refund-worthy: Batch 10, Brewed on 1.7.2014 (!!!) and BBD 1.7.2015 (bought today on the 3.7.2015). Wtf? Colour is brown, tall caramel head. Cloudy and heavily carbonated. Aroma of caramel, sugar, ripe apples, prunes. Very fruity and sweet. Taste is surprisingly sour, though. The title does not apply (translated to "the smell of hops"). The sourness overpowers any hops. Hard to properly rate this one as I believe it has seen better days, but still. Not horrible if you want a sour beer, but I wanted something fresh and hoppy...

Bottle. Amber colour with a beige head. Aroma is fruit, malt, hop. Flavour is fruit, malt, hop, grain, orange. Hint of flavours. Boring beer.

Palme (4816) - Bergen, NORWAY - AUG 21, 2014
0.5l bottle from #2. It has quite a cloudy look this. On the border of being murky in the glass, deep dark amber bronze in color and it has a nice really big and almost fluffy off-white lacing and lasting head. The name says that it should smell like hops. It doesn’t really do that. It’s much more earthy and potato-like in a way. Vegetables, soft boiled and it has hints of bitter orange zest. Not horrible, not pleasant either, but when you make a beer and call it "hoppy-sniff" (loose translation) it’s not supposed to smell like this. It doesn’t taste bad. Well, not very good either really. Hoppy? Not at all. Earthy and slightly chocolate sweet. Like chocolate wrapper filled with cardboard. It has a somewhat light oily mouthfeel and a above average carbonation level. Lots and lots of yeast here. You had one job; smell like hops. Why didn’t you do that!? 20.06.2014
