COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Lot #6 Double ipa: think of this as our Lot #3 on performance-enhancing malt and hops. 8.5%abv, and all kinds of tropical fruit and citrus notes. Tommy got very nervous when he saw all the hops going into this one. 18.5

Draft at Two stones Newark. Pours light orange with a thin white head. Grapefruit notes on the nose. I get a bit of sweet malt on the tongue along with some grapefruit notes. Taste lingers a bit. Eh! Kind of one note!

21 nov 2013, tap. Pink/gold, clear, no bubbles. Nose is pine and grapefruit hops. Med body and moderately fizzy. Sugary malt that kind of dominates the grapefruit hops. Pretty good! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Hoppy without being overly bitter (?), is such a thing possible? Dark amber with rich creamy head, hops, malt and chocolate(?) on the nose, malt first then hops in the taste. Malt on the finish, with some hops dragging it out.

Bottle from The Perfect Pour, Elkridge. Faintly opaque pour, deep orange. Nice filmy head and carbonation, but you can tell from the nose that this ones past its prime. Gotta rate the bottle on hand (but why do craft beer places not refrigerate IPAs - seriously?). Might have started off malt forward anyways, for all I know, but its certainly sweet and chewy for the most part. Bitter, leafy tea dregs is what the hops have been reduced to. Notes of citrus in there if you try hard, I suppose. Nothing very fruity or fresh about it at all. Id certainly like to try a young bottle at some point.

Bottle. Golden, cloudy, average and mostly diminishing head. Moderate to full, malty and lightly sweetish aroma, light caramel and some tropical fruitiness, grapefruit - some piney hoppyness. Body is medium to full, malty and lightly sweetish flavor, light caramel and light tropical fruitiness, piney - light grapefruit hoppyness. Finish is average, malty and lightly sweetish, light caramel and light tropical fruitiness with lots of piney - light grapefruit hoppyness, faint alcohol. Really well hopped IIPA. Could be little bit drier with less caramel.
