On tap at Pinocchio’s. Light golden pour (which was surprising), frothy head. A strong Belgian ale with not a lot of hops our spiciness to combat the typical Belgian sweetness made excessive by the rum. Just too sweet. Not a terrible beer (interesting at least), but needed something too balance the sweetness. Two of these would send me into a diabetic coma.
On tap at the Blue Dog (Lansdale). Poured a golden/amber color with a small sized head. Dark fruits, ginger, rum (more in the tastes vs. aromas), some vanilla, and wood. Sweeter. alobar (3756) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 18, 2013
Pours a golden copper color with an aroma of rum, dark fruit, and yeast. Sweet flavor with dark fruit, yeast, rum, with hint of hops. Very nice beer! DocLock (10647) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 26, 2013
Draft at Railroad Street. Pours hazy straw coppery with off-white head. Nose was hops, figgy fruit, mild yeasty. Tasted of yeasty esters, rock sugary malt, hops, some tartness, and some late apple/pear notes. beachbum25 (1092) - Powellville, Maryland, USA - NOV 29, 2012
On tap at the Brewery-Clear deep copper w/o much head but good lacing. Sweet rum aroma. Flavors of caramel, malt, yeast, oak, rum & dark fruit., w/ some raisens or figs. Smooth & easy to drink, long smooth finish but it has some kick to it. A good winter warmer jeremytoni (3058) - Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA - OCT 8, 2012
From the tap poured a brown color with a good amount of head. Spicy malty flavor with a quick finish. Drake (13639) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 6, 2012
Served on draft at Beer Run. Pours a hazy amber color with a large creamy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of green apple, wood, rum and a lightly sour note. The taste is caramel, toffee, rum and apples. Medium bodied, low carbonation. Weird beer. egajdzis (6501) - Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 10, 2012
Lightly hazy brown color with a small, off white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of apple, vanilla, wood, caramel, citrus, and light alcohol. Taste of caramel, nuts, light roast, dried fruits, apple brandy, wood, and light alcohol in the finish. Too much apple, I thought this was done in an apple brandy barrel. I guess it’s acetaldehyde. nimbleprop (8278) - SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA - JUN 19, 2012
4oz pour at Meridian Pint, clear copper with zero head. Nose is heavy coconut, vanilla, caramel. Flavor is so so, apple, pear, sugary, cola, kind of gross though. Full bodied, sticky finish. What a mess. CaptainCougar (7133) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - JUN 16, 2012
On tap at Frisco Tap House and Brewery: Pours a clear deep copper amber with a thin ring of off-white head. Has a sweet dark caramel and light fruity nose with some oak and rum notes. Starts with good fullness and sweet biscuity malts with good dark fruity esters and rum raisin complexity before a semi-sweet, slightly warming finish. Well-balanced and unique.
