Draft pour - opaque black/brown with medium tan head. Lasting with nice lacing. Big aromas of coffee, roasted malts, nuts, dark fruits and light sweet cocoa. Tastes of figs, coffee, chocolate, and other goodness. Round palate, lots of flavor, very good with a KICK!

Bottle. Nose chocolaty roast, smooth but not quite lactose-enriched, also not finding any toast. Some nice smooth coffee, though. Pour is dark brown, close enough to pitch in the glass, head sudsy and fizzy tan. Fizzy light body a little watery, light bitterness even rising to medium at times but always ultra-smooth, a good deal of light-medium roast but no graininess or toast, and subtle flicks of plum and red berry behind medium and darker caramel. The coffee is decent here, sweetness a little too high for my liking though (although a milk/lactose edge would lend acceptability), some actual malt character and body (milted malt balls), and just a hint of mostly-obscured booze in the background. Aftertaste is much dryer and huskier, to its credit. Sticky lips and enjoyment. I’m beginning to think there’s a reason most coffee-augmented stouts are not of the ’foreign’ variety, but this one is pulled off pretty well. Bottle. Pours a clear dark brown body with a small fizzy beige head that faded to a thin ring. The nose is pretty great for me, but I love coffee. Lots of fresh roasted coffee, some roasted malt, burnt caramel, and a slight citrus note. The flavor is very coffee forward, almost more coffee than there is beer flavor. Nice slight citrusy note from the coffee, light burnt and roasted maltiness. Just a slight burnt caramel sweetness throughout. Medium to full bodied with soft light fizzy carbonation. Opaque black with reddish brown highlights, two-inch foamy tan head with good retention and very nice lace. Big coffee aromas dominate, with notes of roasted grain and dark fruit. pleasant sense of smoke as well. Lots of dark roasted coffee flavor, some dark fruit sweetness, earth and wood, and a gentle alcohol warmth. Mild hopping provides a balancing bitterness. 12oz bottle from Manahawkin Spirits. Pour is black with a thick frothy dark tan head. Aroma of coffee, earth, charred malts, milk chocolate, and for some reason mint. Taste of rich black coffee, burnt black malts, sweet caramel, earth, and dark chocolate.
