Big Hunt, DC pint ($6): Pours a brownish color with a nice head. Aroma is a nice blend of maltiness and hops. This is in a sense a perfect altbier. It is very well-balanced and it maintains the German character, but adds an American element. In honesty, I had about 4 of these in a row, and there is seldom a time at a bar when I order this many of one beer. So far, this has been my favourite offering from Evolution. ben4321 (6827) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - FEB 13, 2013

Aroma: The nose is clean and malty, some nutty notes, a bit of fruit, toasted malts, and caramel
Appearance: It pours a reddish color with a small beige head and some medium lacework
Flavor: The flavor is mid-sweet, pretty much all malts with just a tiny hint of hop bitterness to it
Palate: The body is medium, it drinks cleanly enough, with average carbonation, and a sticky finish
Rater #22! This is a solid beer, but not a standout for me. It is malty, drinkable, and fine, but it just doesn’t have anything that would make you really rush out and try one.
Slightly hazy amber coloured body with a bright ruby tint and a nice, two centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of pale malt, alcohol, nuts, earth, very light spices and a hint of english or german hops. Light-bodied; Sharp metallic note along with some nuttiness, a hint of the hops, a little alcohol sharpness and a definite bitter earth flavour. Aftertaste shows the slow alcohol burn and a larger metallic and pungent finish, with a hint of sugars and a little spice kick. Overall, a pretty pungent beer for the style with the alcohol showing through and a bit too much bitterness for me. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Grateful Red in Arlington (Clarendon), Virginia on 02-February-2013 for US$2.47 sampled at home in Washington on 05-February-2013. sonnycheeba (6539) - Federal Hill, Baltimore, Maryland, USA - DEC 16, 2012
Tap. Pours clear copper with thin, fizzy white head; decent retention and lacing. Aroma is caramel and toasted malt, floral hops, light spice, and mixed nuts. Flavor is balanced bread malts and floral hops (light bitterness) with a hint of spice; dry, lightly bitter finish. Medium body and carbonation. nuplastikk (6508) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 24, 2012
12oz bottle split with Anndiesel. Hazy unfiltered orange-tan body. Thin, oily non head. Toasty malt with some balancing orange hop aroma. Captures the style rather respectfully. Medium bodied, very easy drinking for the ABV. True to style, enjoyable.

Bottle from Total wine Alexandria. Pours dark brown with an inch of khaki foam. Leaves some lacing in the glass. Has a bit of caramel maltiness the nose. Decent caramel on the tongue. Eh! ganache (6087) - New Jersey, USA - FEB 7, 2015
Bottle. Nose is nice and dark, some roasty character but more dark bread crusts a la crispy Munich. Very gentle yeast and hop character. Pours opaque dark brown-red, sort of a muddy amber at this point, with a short soapy beige head. Taste semi-dry, all malt all the time with a bready finish and slightly scorched crusts throughout. Some honeyish sweetness which I find disagreeable, light floral/earth/wood from the hops and a touch of neutral yeast. Light bitterness. Doughy, spicy character and a little overdone brothy melanoidin buildup. Full body, smooth, but doesn’t have enough carbonation to bite through the muddle. Fine as a sipper. I’m guessing the name ("Secret Spot") is a reference to Sticke? altonbrownd (5897) - Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA - DEC 13, 2015
Bottle from Chevy Chase Supermarket. Hazy caramel body with thin head. Nose is sweet, spicy, funky. Taste is malts, caramel, some hops and citrus and good stuff. Nicely done. jsquire (4662) - St. Marys, Ohio, USA - NOV 26, 2016
Amber color with a sticky khaki colored head. Light nose. Sweet caramel and brown sugar, with some ripe fruit, bread crust, and yeast. Nice clean alt. BillKismet (4165) - Seattle, Washington, USA - DEC 28, 2016
Rich amber body with a nice caramel, creamy head. Enjoyable malty aroma with slightly woody notes. The body is malty, well balanced and with the characteristic altbier undercurrent of aged woodiness. Easy drinking.
