COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our winter seasonal is a nod to the classic altbiers of Dusseldorf. A full, toasty malt profile is countered by generous additions of German Hops. Well balanced but assertively hopped, this complex but approachable beer is ideal for shaking off the chill of winter.

Pours clear deep amber with a medium tan head...good lacing and retention. Aroma is very faint but has touches of dry leaves, nuttiness, and a hint of sweet maltiness. Flavor has some sweet fruity/malty notes, mild tea, dry leaves, and earthy bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium and a bit sticky with an earthy/bitter finish.

Elwood (3336) - Leesburg, Virginia, USA - MAR 16, 2012
Pours a hazy, slightly ruddy brown with a decent, off white head of foam. The nose has a bit of plastic, floral hops, and slight malt notes. The flavor starts off floral but then transitions to the malt with the notes of bread, slight nuttiness, and a touch of caramel. There is a lingering bitterness in the back. Medium to full body with prickly carbonation and a slightly oily mouthfeel. A little unusual but not bad.

JDBaker11058 (2334) - Maryland, USA - DEC 24, 2015
appearance: light cola brown, one finger of tan head. aroma: toasted caramel and biscuit malts, light spice, some pine and grassy hops . taste: some caramel and toast, a bit of citrus, pine, and grass, and then a little spice (clove?). finish: clean and dry, slightly bitter. notes: An inoffensive, easy-drinking beer that has a decent amount of character without trying too hard. Felt more like a traditional pale ale than an alt. Would drink again. Bottle from Village Beer & Wine in Rockville.
