Pours a hazy orange with a slight head which disappears quickly. Aroma of pine, citrus and bread. Taste is crisp and not overpowering for a double with no cloying oiliness. Taste of citrus gives way to the full mouthfeel with slight graininess, malty sweet then tales off to a touch of alcohol. A double without the oily residue of isotropics is a big plus. Bottle from The Perfect Pour, Elkridge. Faintly opaque pour, deep orange. Nice filmy head and carbonation, but you can tell from the nose that this one’s past its prime. Gotta rate the bottle on hand (but why do craft beer places not refrigerate IPAs - seriously?). Might have started off malt forward anyways, for all I know, but it’s certainly sweet and chewy for the most part. Bitter, leafy tea dregs is what the hops have been reduced to. Notes of citrus in there if you try hard, I suppose. Nothing very fruity or fresh about it at all. I’d certainly like to try a young bottle at some point. Not an overpowering double IPA, nut does have nice floral and tropical hop notes. Full sticky mouth feel. johnnnniee (4312) - Bedford, New Hampshire, USA - JUL 1, 2013

Tap. Pours clear pale amber, small white head, nice lacing. Aroma is pine, caramel. Flavor is the same, light sweet, lit bitter. Light body.

Very hoppy beer. It's pretty good that anyone that loves IPAs/flavorful beers will enjoy this beer. Highly recommended.

Thanks Bert for this beautiful bottle from Maryland .Pours murky and orange with a soft glow in the body of the beer. Decent head of creamy foam that fell pretty fast to some shimmering lace and a thin layer of bubbles on top. Nose is tropical, orange and herbal. Juicy citrus with a good caramel and breaddy malt spine in back. There’s some pine and resin and a faint whiff of soap that doesn’t last. Taste is intense. Grapefruit and tart citrus, pithy then the sweet orange. The malt stayed strong with toasted grain, a little nutty and caramel. The alcohol was warming but not overly present on the palate even though it does show up more and more as it warms. Good oily body and the fruits really lasted throughout the drink next to such a strong malt presence and hop bitter. Finished dry with some bite from the bubbles and a lasting bitter. It even glowed a little in the aftertaste. It drank a little heavy and had a full body but it was packed with flavor that made it really enjoyable. thorongil2 (3076) - , Ontario, CANADA - MAY 16, 2013
(bottle) hazy orange amber colour with a medium tall white head; aromas of citrus and pine; rich mostly bitter flavour with a long strong bitter finish chronictonic (472) - Oreland, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 13, 2013
Pours golden orange with thin white head. Surprisingly mild aroma - some citrus and alcohol aromas when swirled. Very carbonated. Medium taste level, well balanced - certainly not over the top flavor wise. Alcohol well hidden in the flavor profile. Decent dIPA. (note my bottle says 8.5% not the 9.3% as listed here) bigguns22 (798) - Maryland, USA - MAY 12, 2013
