3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On draught at the Excelsior brewery’s taproom in Excelsior, Minnesota. Pours a semi-clear golden light amber (slightly lighter than the XLCR Pale Ale) with an decent sized off-whtie head that has some excellent retention and lacing. Aroma of both fruity and floral hops, golden grain malt, a hint of banana esters and light tropical fruit. Taste is medium to semi-full bodied, soft carbonation with plenty of golden grain, fruity malt notes, and some strong alcohol umfph. Finish has a nice balance of mild bitterness and extra golden grain malt. Bitterness is short lived followed by plenty of golden grain and fruity malt aftertaste. Alcohol was definitely higher than 6.0 percent, maybe closer to 6.5 percent which would put this into an imperial pils catagory. Normally I would prefer a golden ale at 5.0% or lower during a hot 105°F summer day. Their inauguration blonde ale would pair better with chicken & pasta with white sauce dinner than as a summer thirst quencher.
Draught. Pours clear yellow with a large, creamy white head, long retention. Aroma is moderate bready malt and faint earthy hops. Flavor is moderate bready, sweet malt, faint earthy hops and bitterness with a medium sweet finish. Light body and moderate carbonation. jackl (8423) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - APR 13, 2017
Sample @ Stone Arch. Goode pour with a small head. Aroma has a bit of egg custard. Gentle grass. Fairly light. Cracker. Light honey. Mild floral accents. Light body, strong carb. Relatively inoffensive blonde number. OK work BBQ beer. swisseric (3) - Minnesota, USA - MAR 10, 2017 does not count
Nice thought from my better half to bring one of those bottles home but the beer inside not really do it for me. Ronritter (875) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - DEC 21, 2016

Not a bad blonde, not a great one. Easy enough but enjoy a few other local blondes much better. Nuffield (4199) - Roseville, Minnesota, USA - FEB 26, 2016
Completely inoffensive beer, starting with a dull yellow/copper color and continuing to a moderate palate and mild, lightly sweet flavor. Defies easy flavor identification. Bottle. commonshawn (1321) - Minnesota, USA - DEC 5, 2015
Tap at aster cafe. Gold with white head. Smells light grain. Easy to drink but unremarkable. Medium body which was nice. This blonde could probably have more fun. vikingguy (1106) - Carver, Minnesota, USA - AUG 1, 2015
Golden ale with a small white head. Grainy corn aroma. Taste- sweet grainy malt, some grassy hops and again with the sweet corn. Not my cup of tea.
