4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On draught at the brewery on their Grand Opening day. Pours a hazy orange amber colored ale, some nitro-like bubble excitation followed by a thick off-white head that really sticks with the glass throughout. Aroma of sweet caramel malt, a hint of papaya, lots of floral hops and a hint of mild raisin. Taste is full bodied, some alcohol sensation, and flavors of sweet caramel malt, a hint of tropical hard fruit and light raisin. Finish is quite smooth, sweet and has a short hop bite at first followed by extra caramel and fruity malt aftertaste. Allow this to warm up a little and the floral hops really shine. Closer to a full-bodied Old Ale with extra floral hop and fruity profile or as an Imperial IPA and Old Ale hybrid that will do extremely well during the winter holidays. Excellent inauguration beer especially from a new brewery with all new equipment.
Spritzy golden pour with a substantial white pillowy head. Attractive beer. Aromas of biscuit, yeast, cereal grains. This beer doesn’t seem to have a high concentration of hops, although I do enjoy it. Perhaps it would be better classified as an APA. Ronritter (840) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - DEC 21, 2016

Tap at Prairie Tap House. Strawberry, mango, honey and shortbread. Sweet and fruity, mild bitterness for an IPA. Medium body with a foamy feel. johnnymusky (983) - Minnesota, USA - APR 9, 2015

Smell is not typical of IPA, smells grassy and boozy. Hop profile comes over as watered down. Does have a good mouth feel, where it lacks out has opposite strong suits. deyholla (11914) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JAN 11, 2015
Bottle. Pours a clear amber with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has lots of grass with a bit of pine and sweet fruits as well as a sweet grain backbone. Flavor has sweet fruits and sweet citrus with a touch of resin and a sweet grain backbone. portableparty (2369) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - SEP 9, 2014
12 oz. bottle from 6 pack. Pours an unclear dark amber with a decent off white egg schell colored frothy head that settles to a similar film. Aroma is heavy malts mainly English and a faded hops that are tough to pick out, but dated...(IPA’s from a few years back, heavy malt and dulled hops that try to punch though). Taste is more the same with heavy malt somewhat sweet and some bitter earthy hops showing though with hints of fruity flavors and earthy finishes. Palate is medium chalky and drying. This drinks fine, but really lack in todays profiles! TheHOFF43 (2052) - Robbinsdale, Minnesota, USA - JUL 12, 2014
Tap at Excelsior. Nice taproo, hadn’t been since they remodeled. Citrus hops, malts. Boring, not very good. commonmac (1290) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - MAY 24, 2014
Tap at Boneyard served up in a pint glass. Color leans towards a darker golden. Lacing is there but not impressive. Heavily hopped with an attempted malty balance. Not sure it’s successful. Taste is slightly bitter and mostly unsatisfying. Just a thin taste and thin follow through. You can definitely do better. Kind of makes me want to take a big jump off a cliff into a better Colorado or a California beer.
