Cask Conditioned @ the Saturday session, St Albans Beer Festival 2004. Beer #3. Fairly sweet and roasty bitter. Nice.

Albans BF. Pretty appley, and some toffee aswell (like a toffee apple), bit on the sticky side, with a medium bitterness.
Coppery colour. Malty, with a touch of sweetness (as for many of the Exe Valley beers), but with some solid underlying bitterness. Clean and dry finish. Again, as with other Exe Valley beers I’ve tried, I found this solid, but unspectacular. Slipped down easily though. Cask (gravity dispense), St Albans Beer Festival.

Amber body with little/no head. Lovely roasted flavour. Burnt and toasted malts. Rather flavoursome.
