Avocet is Devons original organic real ale. Since its creation in 2008, this ale has been a favourite from the start. With its pale blonde colour this is a modern-style distinctly flavoured beer. Made with three organic hop varieties, it has a refreshing citrus taste and an attractive aroma.
A distinctively-flavoured beer with refreshing citrus taste and attractive aroma. Light gold in colour and wonderfully refreshing.

Pale yellow, white head. Very faint citrus aroma. Not a very strong flavour. Grassy citrus, touch of apple, light malt bitter hop. Touch watery.

On cask at the Guildford Arms. Appearance - pale golden with a decent head. Nose - citrus and some Mr Werthers sweets. Taste - definitely dry citrus this time. Palate - light bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - solid for the style.

Half-pint, cask ale, shared with Finn at Great Western Hotel Loco Bar. Beige head leaving lacing rings, next to clear pale golden coloured body. Restrained aroma of lemony hops. Citric hints to a pale malty flavour profile. Distant bittersweet ending. Easy going and anonymous (Exeter 27.09.2016).

Pint at pub in Devon during long walk on 2/7/16. Pours pale golden with slight cloud and bubbly head. Aroma of yeasty dough and tangy citrus. Quite sweet and well carbonated.

Gravity at the Ship, Porlock Wier. Pale blond with no head, just a rim of white froth. Citrus and grain aroma. Same flavour. Dull.

Clear golden body, no head. Aroma of pils malt, bred, light honey notes and light spicy hoppy notes. Flavours of smoke malt, bread and hoppy spicy notes. Light bitter medium dry finish, long smoky aftertaste. I found the smoke overwhelming and it makes the whole beer unbalanced.

Cask gravity at The Bell Ivychurch. Clear pale gold lasting white head. Disappointing golden ale. Decent condition. Touch of rubber. Hmm not great. Shame as condition is spanking. Didnt finish a half.
