Bottle - pours dark ruby with thin beige head. Aroma is burnt sugar, caramel and smokey malt. Taste is sweet malt with a caramel and malt drying finish.
Pours copper with a small head.
Nose shows bready malt, soft smoke, caramel, spicy hops and golden syrup.

On tap at Union Hotel, Newtown. Pours a reddish amber with a solid beige head. Aroma: Roasted malt, toffee, raisins, mild citrus, brown sugar, whiskey notes. Taste: Whiskey, toffee, raisins, roasted malt, mild caramel flavours. Medium body. Mildly sweet. Quite tasty. Easy to drink. Very easy going for a scotch ale. Definitely is a great brew! Good looking beer - deep reddish bronze, holds a solid inch of beige foam.
Rich brown caramel on the nose, toasted nuts, blackened toast, some woody, earthy notes there.
Lovely smooth body, sticky rich texture, low carbonation.
Body has good sweet dark caramel upfront, toffee, toast, touch of smoke, sweet but not cloying, dried fruits emerge on the finish with a hint of cocoa & a balanced bitterness, the slightest boozy warmth.

On Tap at Catfish, Fitzroy. Pours orange/red and somewhat cloudy. Soft notes of pear and toast on the nose. The peat is more pronounced than expected upon tasting. No cloying sweetness. And it’s a lovely drop for this choice. I love this style, so this works for me in a big way.
