Sampled at Schlafly Fresh Hop fest - Pours clear gold with a white head. The aroma is dry, bready and malty and is offset by a mild amount of hoppiness. Very clean aroma. Medium / light smooth body with a moderate amount of carbonation. The flavor starts like the aroma, but is more peppery and has a ton of flavor for a beer that is only 3.6% alcohol. The finish has lots of phenolic spice. Really nice beer and a style I’ve not experienced before. phaleslu (10099) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - OCT 23, 2011
Draft at the 2011 Fresh Hop Festival at Schlafly Bottleworks. Pours a clear gold color with some rising carbonation and a small, foamy white head. Aroma is led by bready malts and lemon citrus, with some crackers, cereal, and mild spices. Flavor is almost identical. Light-bodied, with a bready, citrusy mouthfeel. Yep, this one delivers exactly what it promises, which is amazing for the low 3.6% ABV. Really nice beer that made me want to drive all the way out to Cottleville to see what else these guys are doing.
