330 ml bottle into tulip glass, best before 5/31/2016. Pours moderately hazy/cloudy golden orange color with a 1 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big lemon, pear, apple, white grape, light banana, peppercorn, clove, wheat, bread, light honey, herbal, grass, light pine, and yeast/spice earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/earthy yeast, spices, and bready malt notes; with good strength. Taste if big lemon, pear, apple, white grape, light banana, peppercorn, clove, wheat, bread, light honey, herbal, grass, pine, and yeast/spice earthiness. Good amount of peppercorn/yeast spiciness and light tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, pear, apple, white grape, peppercorn, clove, wheat, bread, light honey, herbal, grass, pine, and yeast/spice earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice robustness and complexity of fruity/earthy yeast, spices, and bready malt flavors; with a great malt/yeast/spice balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp, and lightly sticky/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice spiced saison style. All around good robustness, complexity, and balance of fruity/earthy yeast, spices, and bready malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink for the ABV. Sour white wine, corn, a little bit of sweet fruits on the aroma. Light orange color with white head. Sour white wine, cereal and bread, tropical fruits, some Spice and strong bitterness at the end. 33cl bottle, batch 310 14. Pours cloudy light amber with a thin white head. Aroma is sweet malts, citrus, light sweet fruits, yeast, lactic acidity. Taste is similar, good malty base with some spices, yeast and some acidity. Good final dry bitterness, watery texture, medium body, medium carbonation. Grincheux, great little beer bar in Strasbourg 01/2015. Misty yellow pour, near-creamy head. Aroma of pasteurised buttermilk, daffodil pollen, fresh herbal proteins, elegantly dappled by mild € gentrified buttermilk funk. Taste releases more genteel herbalism like cooked lemongrass & dried lemon peel on pillowy malt mousse. Wheat-like yoghurt dessert tartness on a pollenised cream palate. No real trace of the added Sezuach pepper. Well-rounded infused & dryhopped saison that is easy to drink, but I still prefer saisons that manage to conjure all that by their yeast character alone, especially the grasses & peppers.
Couleur jaune trouble, mousse qui disparait. Nez agrumes, citron, un peu vieux fruits. Gout fruité leger, raisin, note sucrée et épicé, mais très acide agrumes. Corps leger. Fin acide et un peu astringente.
